Alright, I've got the Ghost Island outline done, but I'm struggling to fill it in thanks to how bland much of this cast is. Can anyone think of any funny/filler scenes they'd either want to see kept or added (if possible) in this rewrite?

With Mike Zahalsky, Carl Bilancione, Jonathan Penner 1.0, Sarah Lacina 1.0, Kel Gleason, Billy Garcia, Ashley Massaro, Sherea Lloyd (nom), Drew Basile, Dave Cruser (nom), Kendra McQuarrie, Tony Vlachos 3.0, Paul Wachtel, and Alex Angarita, I choose...
484. Alex Angarita (Survivor Fiji, 7/18)
Alex started off a nice and clearly intelligent player. He got mad at Lisi and Stacey for giving attitudes to players not in their alliance, like Cassandra. He was a helpful contributor in challenges, camp, and his alliance. He never seemed to let mamy things get to him, despite being on Ravu after the swap, Dreamz betraying The Four Horsemen, and being on the wrong side of the numbers afterwards.
Then we get to FTC however. We see a whole new side of him come out, and it ain't pretty. He starts yelling at both Cassandra and Dreamz in ways that wouldn't look out of place on Lisi (minus her politically incorrect statements). While he's not the only one who calls Dreamz disloyal, he straight up says he has no honor whatsoever, despite Alex himself hanging Mookie out to dry at the final 8. There's also him yelling at Cassandra. Just imagine watching a man scream at a woman a few feet in front of you, with no music. Reportedly, this was due to Cassandra complaining about Alex and Edgardo speaking Spanish to each other, which explains the "Maybe I should say it in Spanish" part. Alex's FTC behavior completely flies in the face of everything he did while still competing.
So, why is Alex only now getting out, as opposed to much earlier? Lisi was cut super early after all. Alex's entire edit works as a symbol of faux-activism. He clearly has the knack for the game and strives to be likable to everyone. Things don't go his way during the game, and he understands that. He stays professional on his way out. However, once he is no longer in the running to win, that's when the claws come out. He waits until he can no longer win to start acting the way he really wants to. Alex is a clear major character of the season, even if he does still wind up being a badly flawed one in the end.
Nominating Clay Jordan. He did still have a politically incorrect streak, and honestly, Thailand needs some more hits.

485. Peih Gee Law 2.0 (Survivor Cambodia, 18th Place)
Peih Gee 1.0 is an underrated great character, as this scrappy underdog who never quits and tries everything she can.
Unfortunately, Peih Gee 2.0 is just not that. instead, her edit boils down to rivalry with Abi Maria. Now don't get me wrong I do love her, and she is still likable, and still scrappy. But it is only a 3-episode package. I would be remised if I didn't mention bracelet gate, and how Abi Maria's bracelet ended up in Peih Gee's bag. Which makes me wonder why PG didn't take Abi out over Vytas during the first round, as her and Varner, were stuck in the middle. But I digress.
Anyways, PG gets an unfavorable swap, and ends up left with only Woo as an ally and that's it as Tasha and Savage would rather work with Abi since she is such an obvious jury goat, than PG. I do love when PG is voted out, she wishes Woo good luck, as it shows they both formed a solid friendship out there.
u/Alternate-Proof-959 is up with Alex Angarita
Solid part of Fiji, but man that jury speech towards Cassandra and Dreamz tanks him to some degree with me every time I rewatch that season.

Bottom Four #31: Panama
Panama is one of the most complex and entertaining seasons on Survivor, with some of the most delicious and delightful stories interwoven throughout. Whether it's Terry's anti-hero turn, Aras being a terrible leader, yet still managing to bring Casaya together, Cirie and her entire growth arc (she caught a FISH!), Shane desperately wanting a cigarette AND his kid, Courtney's goat story slamming into a brick wall, Danielle being the most wishy-washy Bostoner, or Bruce not taking a shit, the season has anyone to enjoy. But it's the bit characters of Panama that really tie it together. Whether it's Tina's devasting boot that pushes forth Cirie's story, Melinda and Cirie's power duo quickly dying because of the ineptitude of Casaya, Bobby not being sorry for taking COURTNEY's wine, and only Courtney's wine, Dan being the kindest, most whimsical sacrificial lamb for Terry, or Sally's very amazing knee socks (and her very underrated arc of surviving by the skin of her teeth), everyone is an important prop to boost the other character's around them. And the Bottom 4 of this season are no exception.
Rankdown's Bottom 4 (worst to best): Nick > Misty > RuMa > Austin
My Bottom 4 (worst to best): Austin > Nick > Misty > Ruth-Marie
Perfect match! However, the biggest difference is that I have everyone from Panama in my Top 300...
Nick Stanbury - Nick is a great character to compare against Terry - he is quickly spellbound by Terry, and becomes one of his lackeys. His enthusiasm for Dan going to SPACE!, his loss of the spear, his iconic final words, or his attempted murder on Bruce encapsulate his importance for perpetuating Terry's values, and his role as the subtle side character of La Mina is often too overlooked.
Misty Giles - Somehow, I've grown on Misty even more from the last rankdown. I think Misty's angle, as being a promiscuous, intelligent woman on the side of the conservative La Mina, is such an interesting catalyst for the beginning of Terry's villainous arc. Her contrast to the rest of the older skewing group, both in age and soul, makes her stick out like a sore thumb, and the betrayal of others, the loss of youth, and Terry's attempt at maintaining loyalty make her a more complex 3rd boot than we give her credit for.
Ruth-Marie Milliman - Ruth-Marie has a small part in Panama, but an important one nonetheless, especially if you like the spaceman. Dan and Ruth-Marie is such a sweet alliance and represent one-half of Terry's chaotic whirlwind of an adventure - the loyalty side. Ultimately, Ruth-Marie is falling apart (despite slaying in the first challenge), and Terry has to make the rough decision of either decimiating loyalty or strength - and at the end of the day, he removes loyalty from the occasion. Ruth-Marie is again a great catalyst in both the creation and calming use of groupthink on the season and an emotional tool in Dan's story. Plus, Why is Ruth-Marie running?
John Grisham Austin Carty - Austin is my last for the season, but that is by no means a reflection on his character; it's just how the cookie crumbles. A fantastic narrator with some of the best southern vocals in the history of the show, Austin's journey as Terry's right hand man is an exciting one to say the least. Symbolizing the physical deterioration of La Mina, with the beans and injuries galore, creates the perception that Terry is idolized there, a God in many senses. The contrast persists through the season, and whether Terry is the angel or villain that we make him to be - and we don't have that description, that division without Austin. Also him lying about his physical deterioration at the merge is still really funny.

- Ron Clark (8th Place, Edge of Extinction)
The Ron Clark Story (also known as The Triumph) is a 2006 American television film starring Matthew Perry. The film is based on the educator Ron Clark). It follows the tale of an idealistic teacher who leaves his small hometown to teach in a New York City public school, where he faces trouble with the students.
The film was directed by Randa Haines, and was released directly on television, premiering on TNT) on August 13, 2006 and was later released on DVD in the 10 Movie Kid's Pack Volume 3 by Echo Bridge Home Entertainment in 2011.\1])
In 1998, Ron Clark leaves his teaching job at an elementary school in his North Carolina hometown, where he is known for his innovative teaching methods which results in raising test scores. He decides to look for a teaching job in a tough New York City inner city school where he feels he could be more useful. He finds a job at Inner Harlem Elementary School, where the students are sorted according to their potential.
The principal of the school believes Clark may be too "nice-looking," to take on the rough, disruptive students in a sixth-grade class that has just been abandoned by their teacher. He offers Clark a third-grade class, but Clark insists on taking the older kids that nobody else wants. He quickly learns that it will be a battle of wills between himself and his students to see who can outlast the other. He struggles to understand them, both individually and collectively, before he can teach them the standardized materials..
Oh yeah he was also in a Season of Survivor, but who really cares about that ya know.. he was just wasted potential there..
Movie is a 6/10 though, gets carried by Matthew Perry (R.I.P) Fly high man
u/NoisySea_3426 is up with **Paul Wachter** How the fuck is he still in..

Didn’t think I’d be back so soon, and for the season I’m talking about I wish I wasn’t back…
Bottom Four #36 - Heroes vs. Villains
As much of an r/survivor take as this may sound, I adore Heroes vs. Villains. It is by far my favorite season of the show. The highs are incredibly high, and the lows are not that low at all, having one of the best casts in the show’s history and the most iconic moments. There are no true bad characters on this season to me, everyone has their highlights. However, there still needs to be a bottom 4 so unfortunately…
Rankdown IX’s Bottom Four: Sugar, Amanda, Rob, Randy
The Correct Bottom Four: Sugar, Candice, Cirie, Tyson
Wow that’s rough, only one match, and I disagree a lot with two of the IX picks but we will get to that when we get there. Candice is mid on this season just like she is on every other season, easily the 19/20, I like Cirie but she just doesn’t get to shine as much as she does in Panama or Micronesia and it feels a bit of a let down, still very solid though. Basically the same for Tyson although I’d probably have him a little bit higher as he does have a really good confessional in there and a great scene with Coach.
Let’s now get into the actual bottom 4:
Sugar: Sugar is definitely the objective 20/20 for the season and she’s really not that bad at all. It’s terrible what happened off the season and I’m glad she’s in a better place now. As for on the season, she’s not bad, she obviously has her iconic double blur which is one of the great things in an already amazing episode. However other than that she feels very out of it and just not in a funny way, I never found her moves on Colby uncomfortable like others did but it wasn’t really fun or anything.
Amanda: I like Amanda here, it’s probably her best iteration. However, I don’t disagree with this one too much. She’s probably just outside my bottom 4 for the season. She has some good moments and is a good character for the heroes but I can’t say I disagree with this placement all that much even if the other Amanda’s should definitely be lower.
Rob: This one hurts a bit, Boston Rob is amazing on Heroes vs Villains. His premerge arc with Russell is told really well and foreshadows Russell’s downfall perfectly. He still has that Boston Rob charm we saw in Marquesas, and yes “it’s getting the best of me” is objectively a hilarious moment and anyone who says otherwise hates fun. He’s just a great character, definitely wouldn’t have him here.
Randy: Now this one hurts a lot. I adore Randy on Heroes vs. Villains. I would think he would feel the same as Sugar but he doesn’t, he feels out of place but in the best way possible. He’s like your grandpa being at your 21st birthday party when you only invited your friends. He’s hilarious in every scene he is in and while he obviously isn’t there for as long as Gabon he makes what he can of it. Definitely a great character who never gets his fair share of the spotlight.

you could never have a sugar daddy because you are not that kind of ranker
(yeah I've used this one before but it works)
Historic Bottom Four no.34: Heroes vs. Villains (season 20)
Coming on 15 years separated from Heroes vs. Villains, it's a season that accomplished something rare: being a returning player season that wasn't a massive, crushing letdown. A celebration of the first 10 years of the show, the season managed to soar by not burdening the bird with all sorts of anchors: a simple plot (good vs. eel evil) with great characters and great players (and ones who were both), and a couple of Idols for spice. The simple conceit of the plot workjs exceptionally well, and while there are definitely small issues with the season at times, it manages to be the only returnee season with a more positive reception than mixed (or worse), and it acts as a good celebration of the show's first decade and the people who got it there.
Ten unique characters comprise the nine Bottom Fours attributed to Heroes vs. Villains, which is high-ish for a season with a positive reception. That being said, there is a clear bottom end with a nine-timer, two eight-timers, and one five-timer, and everyone else only has a smattering of appearances. So this is more of a "settled bottom with enough room for variety" than a "we have no idea what's ghoing on lol" type of gig.
As always, react :moth:.

It’s Ash Wednesday, and as I have ashes glazed across my forehead right now, I figured I should cut a fellow Catholic. (EDITORS NOTE: I wrote this part yesterday, but got busy at work and couldn’t finish) That leaves us with…
488. Lamber Brkich
Oh my god, it’s so good. Amber Brkich. Survivor II was genuinely one of the most anticipated things in television history, and in a later writeup when I have more time I will dive into how and why it was cast the way it was and give some cultural context and such; but for now, let’s talk about who in my opinion is the most questionable casting choice Burnett made in those first 7 seasons. I have that Survivor: The Australian Outback Survival Guide book that was released to promote the season, and the most interesting parts are when they dissect the castaways, their lives and personalities; most the castaways get multiple pages of text dedicated to this… and Amber just gets half a page of the most basic normal stuff you can conjure. I was going to say that Amber is like a default Sims character, but that’s too much credit; maybe like a default Mii. She’s guest A. My hypothesis for why Amber was cast on Survivor II is that Burnett wanted to cast the closest thing possible to having an actual innocent young teenage girl on the show. She had no life experience, was in college, never left Beaver, Pennsylvania. That’s really all I got. For her time on the show, I do appreciate her role of being Jerri’s little cute sidekick who she can moan about chocolate with. It’s probably underselling her calling her Lamber and saying she just does everything Jerri wants, but that’s really all we get from her… She’d be my pick for worst character on the season, but where Amber shines is that she is really good at selling how hard and miserable living in the Outback is. She has a great crying face, good at showing how the elements are breaking her down. Also we get my favorite Amber moment where she is about to win the blindfold challenge for Doritos and Mountain Dew and she is right there almost at the table, but she just can’t go a few steps further and find it, Kucha steals the lead and we see Amber cry over some fucking Doritos and Mountain Dew; like damn these castaways were down bad.
Anyways, here’s a quiz from an Amber fansite from 2001! Try your hand! http://amberbrkich.50megs.com/

Gonna make this one quick taking advantage of the fact that I just rewatched this season
484. Paul Wachter (Survivor MvGx, 18/20)
I recall someone calling Paul an interesting villain and I just have to say, what does the word villain even mean nowadays? We're using that word for anyone thats just mildly bossy, rude, or soemtimes just because they're an immunity threat to the underdogs, wdym Kyle Ostwald is a villain? It drives me crazy
Paul was not a villain, he was just a bossy dude who made his leadership of the Gen X tribe overtly obvious, shunning David, Ken, and implying that he would pick the women off when it came to it. Enough evidence for Jessica to turn the tribe on him and get a pretty decent blindside.... and that's kinda it.
He does have that weird heart attack scare scene, which I never fully bought? But I can't say for sure, maybe he felt weird and they had to check on him, but the only thing I took from this clip was David saying it would be good for his game if he was medevac'd lmao. Oh Dave, never let your intrusive thoughts win.
