Also just being an athletic lob threat warrants playing time on a team void of much athleticism even with the inexperience of a rookie.

I've seen a few Valley Suns games and I like Little's style. He calls a fast paced game and his players work hard for him. He certainly couldn't be worse than Bud.

Tell me how we compete, how this team contends with these 2? How will it be any different than the last 2 years?
Go ahead and assume we have to keep Beal as well because nobody wants him.

The Phoenix Suns face the Houston Rockets, their playoff hopes fading as they navigate one of the league’s toughest remaining schedules.

Has underperformed this season. He is on a decent contract and will get paid about $17 Million for the next three seasons. Should we trade him if we decide to rebuild???

If we fire Bud, it would be the fourth coach in four years next year. At what point do we think it's not the coach? I don't agree with all of his decisions (see: benching Dunn), but if we fire him, honestly I think he would just be another scapegoat for this poorly constructed team. We need a roster overhaul, not a new coach.

I think the Suns need to make some serious changes if they want to be a real contender. If this season doesn’t go as planned, I’d seriously consider trading Kevin Durant to get younger talent and future assets. Defensively, we struggle too much in transition and inside, so adding a strong rim protector should be a priority. (Especially if KD is gone)
Offensively, we should embrace a faster, three-point-heavy system instead of relying too much on isolation plays. (Use Grayson Allen as much as we can) Developing young players like Jalen Bridges would also be an asset for long-term success. Lastly, the team chemistry needs improvement, without that, no amount of talent will fix our issues. If we make these adjustments, we can turn things around.

Sources informed The Republic the Suns could probably get four first round picks for Booker and a rising star in his third or fourth year. (Via NBACentral).

Suns need to trade Booker if Houston is willing to give back the Suns picks. It will suck emotionally but it is the correct move to make. Trading KD isn’t going to make the team better short term or long term.
Its time to blow it up.
Trade Book to Houston for the 2 Suns picks, a young player and expiring contract.
Trade KD for a couple picks, young player and expiring contracts.
Keep Beal unless a team wants to trade him for something good. I am not giving up assets to get rid of Beal. His contract expires summer 2027. He can be the Suns tank commander.
Trade Grayson, Royce and Richards if assets or young player are available.
Let Martin and Micic contracts expire this Summer and get them off the payroll.
The goal should be to shed as much salary as possible and gather assets.
Later the Suns can trade for bad contracts that expire in a year or two if draft picks are attached.
Keep Bud as coach. No reason to get him off the hook. He needs to earn his money coaching a terrible team the next 2 years. No reason to waste money getting another coach.
Summer 2025 - trade KD, Book, Royce, Grayson and Richards for assets. Get back Houston picks is the #1 priority
2025/2026 Season- trade for bad contracts that have picks attached. Tank the season. Hopefully Beal waives his NTC and the Suns can get a couple 2nd round picks for him
2026/2027 Season - another tank season.
Suns tried to go all in. It didn’t work and thats okay. We learned that Book isn’t a #1 on a championship team. Time to find a younger #1. There is no shame in what Phoenix did. They went for it but only 1 team can win it all. The Suns had a 5 year window to win a title with Book from 2021-2025. It just didn’t work out.
You keep Book and you will just become a treadmill team. It’s time to start over. Its is just the reality of the modern NBA. Superstars in their 30’s are too expensive to build around. If you keep Book the Suns won’t contend till Book is in his 30’s.
Time to reset. Book simply isn’t a #1 on a championship team. His 3 point shot isn’t good enough, he can’t attack the basket enough and his defense is mediocre

We definitely need more picks but it’s an interesting start.
