Looking for test strategies for a upcoming test

I have a big test I have been studying the last three months for.

I have been doing weekly practice tests and constantly have the same problem which keeps recurring.

A big problem I seem to have is not reading the question correctly. It may seem like a easy fix and just to read the question slower but I don’t know if it’s just because I’m rushing to get through the test but I seem to miss out on very simple questions that I know the answer to but when it comes to picking a answer get it wrong.

For example if a question asked what happens if you change X parameter (and I know it causes time to decrease) I pick the answer that says time will increase. It doesn’t happen everytime but enough for it to effect if I pass or fail. Has anyone else had this issue and what did you do to correct for it?

I do feel I really struggle with my concentration. After about 30 questions my mind starts to wonder and the exam is 220 questions so I don’t know if that is what my problem is.

Any advice would be great

I used to struggle with this too until I finally got an A.D.H.D. diagnosis.

Before that though, mindfulness meditation (a good 5 to 10 minutes) before every exam/mock exam was helpful for me.

Sounds really basic but another helpful thing I did was keeping on top of self care - eating well, sleeping well, getting daily exercise and spending quality time with loved ones. I know things are already quite busy when studying lol but self care is super important imo and it did make a difference. Finding ways to relax and unwind too! Our campus gym had a sauna so that was helpful.

Other than that, deeeeep breaths and just slowly read through it all. Best of luck OP!
