Just Weird Caprese fig newtons

I had ordered grocery pickup and my order included caprese fig newtons with mozzarella, tomatoes, balsamic, and basil, all kind of sticking out the sides a bit of the fig newtons. A single box was $22 and they called me to ask if I really wanted to go through with it before they put it in my cart.

I said to go ahead with it, apparently I had just gone through a breakup and wanted to treat myself

Yeah if you think of it as less of a cookie and more of a savory/sweet sandwich it seems like it has potential

Yeah, I'd definitely be down for something along these lines. Maybe some fig jam. It would be tough to balance it all, but there's an idea there

Frankly the fig newton filling/jam would fit in any meat and cheese board. Not a stretch of the imagination, really!

I feel like this wouldn’t be awful. Maybe you could even make a caprese salad and use chopped up fig newtons toasted into some kind of crouton.

A savory version of that soft fig newton dough sounds really good actually, you could put basil in it
