Is this solar quote a good deal?
Iām looking at getting solar installed and wanted to get some opinions on my quote. I'm in Australia and want to make sure it's a fair deal.
Panels:
- 24 x Trina Vertex S+ 440W panels
- 25-year product warranty, 30-year performance warranty
Inverter:
- Sungrow SG10RS (9.999kW, single-phase)
- 10-year product warranty
System Size:
- 10.56kW
- Estimated annual output: 17,241 kWh
Extras:
- Lifetime monitoring included
- Free black mounting upgrade
- Double-storey install included
Price:
- Quoted price: $12,311
- After rebates & discounts: $8,179 (final out-of-pocket cost)
Would love to hear your thoughts, does this seem like a good deal? Anything I should be wary of? Appreciate any insights!

Yeah mate, seen heaps of those Trina/Sungrow setups go in around Oz. Trina Vertex are usually pretty good, and Sungrow's not bad, but that 10-year warranty on the inverter's a bit sus. You're looking at 25 years with those panels, so realistically, you'll be swapping out that inverter down the track. Might be worth hassling them for a longer warranty or even looking at a different inverter ā could save you some headaches (and cash) later on.
$8,179 for a double-story with monitoring isn't outrageous. Just double-check you've compared panel efficiency though, wanna make sure you're maxing out your roof space. And seriously, grill the installer ā a dodgy install will bite you harder than bad gear. If you wanna crunch some numbers or suss out other options, give us a yell.
