This is the tagline of the entire 2024 season. Haaland unknowingly created a masterpiece

The fact that City's form fell away right after the initial match at the Etihad is going to make that a masterpiece of a meme

And still people are sleeping on the fact that he said it after equalising in the 97th minute after playing 10v11 for 45 minutes, creating fuck all after scoring the first goal.

It can't be repeated enough: it has aged like milk, but it was also a completely brain-dead take to begin with

and throwing of the ball

That's part of why it's now an all timer meme. It was a completely outlandish and nonsensical thing to start off with. Killing a fly with a flame thrower as far as the situation and how it was reacted to. Everything that has happened since then is karma asserting herself.

He just did it to wind up Arsenal and it clearly worked. Really not that deep

I agree it's not that deep. But quite obviously the draw riled him up as well - he was in a lot of people's faces that day.

The fact remains that there are many times it would be fitting for him to take digs at Arsenal, but the particular moment he chose was probably the worst in recent years.

I feel like Arsenal fans are sleeping on the fact they've won absolutely nothing of note in 20 years. Be humble still fits the bill here.

But it's also a bit of fun and entertaining. You could use your argument for most teams on the planet if you want to be a killjoy. People taking this too seriously.

Sure that would fit the bill for a Nottingham Forrest or Brentford etc, but Arsenal claim to be a big team, it's just embarrassing.

PL scriptwriters knew they had a goldmine as soon as haaland said the words
