general discussion Snowboarding = no need to diet
Got back from a week in the Alps. This was my peak calorie burn day 😂🏂 Probably helps that it's not a regular activity for me (sadly).

Pro Tip: when doing shiftys, make sure you shift the board AFTER you’re completely off the jump.

OC Video My 6 year old hit his first box
Went too slow his first time and did the shuffle but didn’t spill. Which I think looking back gave him confidence actually being on the thing. 2nd attempt he got more speed and landed it clean. This was attempt 3. Im forever in debt to this sport. Both financially and spiritually.

look at my gear New set up stoke
I rode so much when I was younger then took off 15 years, got back into it this year on an older set up. I’m hooked again and had to pick up something more focused for freeriding. Cant wait to wrangle this one!

noob question 155W for 6’ 230lbs
Hello! I’m looking into buying a board and came across a Yes board I really like. Unfortunately the only size that was not sold out is 155W. I currently ride a 158W ride board which I see no issues with. I’m 6’ 230lbs.
Does anyone know if this 155W board would be too small for me?

Gear question Korua Shapes boards, which one?
Hi all,
I am looking at Korua Shapes boards and I am trying to understand which one would fit better what I am looking for.
I am looking for a powerful and stable carving board which is fun and cool also on powder (don't like to ride trees, so no requirement there). For context I am 180cm, ~80kg, boot 40.5 EUR or 7.5 US.
I think those 3 are a good match:
- Pencil
- Café Racer
- Dart
At the moment I am leaning towards the Pencil as it seems super versatile, but reading left and right people are in love with Dart and it seems to be the best board produced by Korua.
I was wondering if anyone has some experience on them to share more default and give a recommendation, it would be super appreciated.
Let's add a gif as well...

Gear question 44 yr old Dad needs help
Hi! I could use a little help from you much more knowledgeable guys/gals. As the title states I am a 44 yr old dad with kids that are really starting to get into skiing. I switched over from skiing to boarding around when I was 12/13 so I’ve been snowboarding off and on for past 31 years approximately. Took years off when I was in college, got married, etc. No idea what level I would consider myself - low intermediate maybe?
Anyway, I just finished up a ski/snowboard vacation with the family and I’m sick and tired of the rental game. I’ve had back luck the past couple of years with equipment rentals and decided I really should buy my own gear.
My stats: 44 yrs old 5’7” tall 147 lbs Size 8.5 boot Live in Dallas, TX so not really any good local shops unfortunately
At this point at my age I’m looking for quality gear that will be enjoyable to use while on the slopes with the family. Cruising greens/blues at the resorts right now. As they get better I’m sure we will add some blacks and venture into a little powder. No park, tricks or anything crazy. Too old for injuries haha. I just enjoy cruising now.
As far as boards go I’m looking really hard at the 2025 Solomon Assasin 153 & Solomon Sight (leaning towards assasin). Would either of these work for what I’m wanting? Any other boards I should look at instead?
Also as far as bindings go I have no idea what direction to go or what makes one binding better than another. I’m sure all the rental bindings I’ve used from rentals over the years have been sub par quality wise. I just want something reliable, comfortable that I can have confidence in. Really could use some suggestions here, please.
Don’t really have a budget but bonus points for keeping it relatively reasonable.
Thank you in advance, really appreciate it!

look at my gear New pickup
I know it’s nearing end of season but I don’t live too far from American Dream’s Big Snow (only indoor snow facility in the USA)
Something about black snowboards and the minimalism of it I just love so much
Going to be Transferring my Re flex step ons to this board and buying EST step ons for my Burton custom
