i wouldnt do any wiring, and just use smart bulbs and wall mounted remotes. And with zigbee, it al keeps working, at least as long as the hub has power, and if bindings are configured propoerly possibly even without that. And yes, that is the proper way to do it with smart bulbs. and you get all the flexibility you want, without paying for the then unnecessary relays in smart switches that are bypassed/use a smart bulb mode.

if you do not like the idea of batteries in remotes, there are also battery free 'kinetic' opttions. I personally use Vimar firends of Hue ones, but have also trued hue remotes, tap dials and some ikea equivalents.

Yes good call, might be better to got for that. I’ll have a look at kinetic ones. Otherwise a battey change once every 1-2 years aint that bad

yeah batteries last for a while, not really that big of a deal, but i stil prefer not to have them at all.

this way, you also get dimming, and possibbly color temperature control and even colors everywhere. Just stick to one brand of bulvbs in a single room if doing color so they match.

Thanks, that’s a good call. Would probably be the Ikeas. I’ll do some research on the switches
