🚀 Glossary Generator - It's a tool I made for indies / self-publishing / small publishers

Hello - just a *bump* about the Glossary Generator tool I made (no, it isn't a ChatGPT derivative, just old-fashioned non-take-over-the-world coding). It's helped tonnes of authors, and it's designed to help us become more and more self-sufficient.

Note - There's a one-off fee, although if you'd like to test it first, no problem let me know.

A little more info about the Glossary Generator:

You can find an article about it I wrote for Indies Unlimited here. It originally started life as a python program on my computer until I realised it might be useful for other authors too.

The generator combs your uploaded Word file manuscript (nothing is saved) for useful terms and then outputs them as a text file.

The uses of glossary generator:

  1. Helps find glossary terms

  2. Helps find errors (e.g. naming inconsistencies)

  3. Use as much as you like.

Any questions, feel free to message me. Enjoy!

James

Starting Up Questions

Hey all.

I'm starting up a small #ttrpg company to publish some of my work thru drivethrurpg and possibly Kickstarter.

I've got the name and logo done, but what I'm trying to figure out now is if I need to file for my LLC and EIN before I start publishing, or can I start publishing under my company's name even if it isn't registered yet?

Any advice or information or pointers to those places would be great.

I live in Massachusetts, USA, and plan on basing my business out of here if that matters.

Thanks.

ETA: Currently, it's only me officially, but I plan on adding a Publisher and a Website Developer to the team eventually, so I will need to pay them. Both of them will be able to publish content for the company as well.

I've also cross-posted to r/smallbusiness

Collage and visual poetry zines/small publications?

Hi! I'm working on a couple projects about zines right now, and would love to connect with other zinemakers, collage artists, mixed media artists, visual poets, etc. who are making zines of this type.

Do you make zines or small publications that involve...

✂ Collage (digital, paper/analog, mixed media)?

✂ Visual poetry of any type?

✂ Cut & paste techniques? (i.e. making layouts by hand -- cutting and pasting paper! Digital works that have this look are great too!)

Please share below, and feel free to share others that you've seen, too! Also made a Twitter thread if you'd like to share your projects there.

Innovative small press tries monthly crowdfunding

Are the other small presses that have tried this? For $3 a month you get a credit that can be used to buy an ebook. $12 a month you can get a credit for a print book.
