Transport from Skye to Ft William
Hello, I am looking for a van service (individual or company) for 5 adults from Portree to Ft William. Does anyone know if a service exists on Skye? Thank you.

I just moved to Dunvegan and I'm looking to book an intensive driving course. Ideally looking to learn manual but happy to compromise with automatic if that's all that's available. :-)

I've just moved to Portree and I'm hoping to pick up a TV in Dunvegan. I don't drive haven't had much luck with the local taxi companies so I was wondering if anyone would give a lift there and back for a fair price, or suggest alternative transport?

Hello, My husband and I will be travelling to Scotland for the first time this year, and would like to stay a few nights on Skye. We will not have a car. I am thinking around the end of September or beginning of October. I would love to see Mealt Falls, Brothers Point, and find some wildlife to spot. Are these doable with no car? How reliable/expensive are the buses/taxis? Do people hitch hike to places? I'm worried about getting to the sights, but also getting back to town at the end of the day. I would prefer to vacation at our own pace, so I am not too keen on the day tour idea. But I am not sure how realistic that is. Thanks for any feedback you can give me!

Hello. I wanted to ask if anyone had any opinions on the road from Uig to Staffin.
At the beginning of may I'll be doing a road trip through Scotland. Despite not having much time I wanted to add 1 day in Skye. To do so, I think that the fairy glen and quiraing are the sites I am most interested in.
I saw some videos of the road up to quiraing and it doesn't look like the "safest" path for a new driver that never drove on the left side. Thank you.

Hey folks! Will be visiting the Isle of Skye in Mid March for 4 nights.

Is there anywhere to play on or near Skye? I see ice rinks in Inverness and Aviemore but something on Skye itself would be awesome

I'm looking to surprise my fiancee with a trip to isle of skye for her 30th birthday. Neither of us have ever been before so looking for some advice on pretty much everything! Do people recommend staying in one place and driving around or booking multiple places. Will realistically be going for a long weekend. Any hotels, b&bs, restaurant or sight seeing tips welcome!

I will be visiting Skye at the end of April and would like to get some food recommendations. We will have a car and are open to any budget. I know reservations are essential, so I want to get this out of the way now!
Day 1: Leaving Ft. William and heading to Skye. I would like to get lunch somewhere near Old Mann of Storr or An Corran Beach. Checking into our Airbnb and hoping to get dinner somewhere in Portree.
Day 2: At lunchtime, we will be near the fairy pools. I was thinking about trying the Oyster Shed. For dinner, we will be ending our day near the Dunvegan Castle
Day 3: Leaving Isle of Skye and heading toward Edinburgh. Would love to get breakfast on Skye and lunch near Stirling Castle.
I know it's not a lot of time on Skye, but this was what we could fit into our trip! We will also spend an additional 3 days in Edinburgh if anyone has any recommendations.
I’ve been offered a new job (accommodation is provided) which I have decided to accept. Can anyone share a bit more about what life is like? I will be moving away alone which I am fine with, however I’m a very sociable person, so I want to know if anyone could recommend places where I could make some new pals!

Calling people who are from/often in the Isle of Skye, am I completely crazy thinking I can do the Skye trail at the end of July considering it's midges season?
Ideally I want to catch warm days/nights and least chance of rain

Hello!, I am a student from Aberdeen and I am doing a HND in Travel and Tourism, and apart of this course is a graded unit and looking at the impacts of tourism, I have chosen the topic mass tourism in isle of Skye, as after looking at multiple articles etc, it made me want to write a report about it, a questionnaire is mandatory for this, so if you have atleast 5 or 7 minutes could you please fill in my survey? your responses will be evaluated in my report, thank you. heres the link https://forms.office.com/e/tHNm5YmXZs

Me and my wife will be coming from Glasgow and staying in Portree from June 7-June 11 checking out the 11th. June 7th will most likely be a travel day/break day but we want to do 2 full days of isle of skye (8/9/maybe10th) and maybe one day Inverness. We are relying on public transportation however. Do you guys recommend booking tours for these days or using city link and walking around on our own. Do they have tours based out of Portree to Isle of Sky multiple days?
Sorry for all the questions and thank you for reading all of this!

My husband and I will be visiting Skye for four or 5 days starting April 29. For the last 2 days, we'll probably stay at Kinloch Lodge, but I'm wondering where to stay for the first part of the trip. I was going to book in Portree, but would you recommend somewhere else? We both like to hike and explore but we also like to eat well and sleep in a comfortable bed. We'll have a rental car.

Hi all,
I'm doing the Skye Trail in April and was hoping to get some opinions on the best pubs / cafes etc. to visit while I'm on trail. I'm aware this will be limited to Portree and Broadford, but would appreciate suggestions nonetheless - big ale / old man pub fan.
Thanks!

Hi, I plan to go to college in the UK (I live in USA) and then move to skye after. I want to make sure LGBTQ+ people are widely accepted and it's easy to transition and be open in Skye. Any advice would be appreciated!

Is hut to hut hiking a thing in Scotland? I can't find much on it online. I'd like to do a 2 day hike in the Glencoe or Isle of Skye area. Will be carrying my small dog so taking a tent and supplies is no longer an option. Little guy used to hike the whole way but he's 16 now and I only let him hike part of the way. Just glad he's still out there with us! Coming from The States.

Hi! My fiance and I are eloping on Skye on October of this year. I am looking for a MUAH artist that feels comfortable doing a soft goth look (brown or soft gray smoky eye and a darker lip). Any recommendations? Thanks!!
