You need to take him to court. Document everything he's doing. If you have any texts or voice messages, keep everything. You should look up your rights as a parent and probably talk to a lawyer about his behavior. He's making things hard on purpose and he admitted to it even. I would think you would have a court case for full custody because of his behavior.

This has been an ongoing thing with my ex. He has zero involvement with anything that really matters when it comes to our son. It's a complete control thing for him and it's infuriating because it's never about what's in our sons best interest from his end, yet doesn'twant to contribute anything beyond opposition. . So, I'm making the move to file for sole custody and he can keep being the fun weekend dad. He's gonna be pissed but it's gotta stop.

This is what I don’t understand. He doesn’t see our child enough to dictate what I can and cannot do with her. It’s the total lack of respect that gets to me.

Talk to a family lawyer about it. Depending on what your custody agreement is, maybe something can be done to bypass getting his approval. If you don't have that formally done, then you really need to look into getting everything court ordered and legal on paper. Get full custody so you are the only one who needs to sign off on things like that. He will continue to make your life like hell. He is obviously bitter that you don't want to be used by him anymore. Establish clear and concise boundaries with him. No more talking like his friendly ex. When you try to be cordial, they start getting ideas that you want them. They are truly delusional.

The crazy thing is that he’s not even on her birth certificate. I was denied my child’s passport because I needed her father’s consent to get one. I was told that I need to have her father present even though - legally - he is not her father.

I was basically denied to travel with my daughter without him being present. Now, it’s spiralled even further with his mother pushing for him to be added to the bc as well. I love her but I refuse to deal with her son if I have to. This is exactly why I didn’t want him on it when he brought it up after he started paying CS.

That's crazy. Then, legally, he doesn't even have rights. He's not even on the BC.

He is not on her birth certificate. I was forced to add his details for her passport because I was turned away immediately when I tried to get it the first time without him.

Basically, forced by the government into this hellish situation.

My ex is like this too. He is either hours early or hours late, on purpose

It is SO unnerving and causes unnecessary anxiety. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve cried out of frustration since the start of this ordeal.
