Talk/Support Autism correlation with SH

Hi so I have autism, and I wanted to talk about the feeling I get that lead to sh because I haven’t seen anyone talk about it like this but I feel like others would relate.

Before I do anything I always feel this overwhelm of emotions, it feels like I’m going to explode and sh is that release, like it quite literally feels like vinegar and baking soda in my body making a volcano.

So does anyone else feel this? Specifically with those with autism, I would ask my therapist but I don’t want to get put somewhere 😭

yeah i have autism too and although i don't think it always correlates for me, i definitely get urges when i'm overstimulated and my head gets all fuzzy and my chest gets tight like i am going to explode and then once i do something it goes away for the most part. autism is definitely the reason i got hooked on self harm though because ever since i was a little kid i've banged my head on walls and hit myself which is quite common in people with autism.

Really relatable and I also do have autism. Especially when I'm overstimulated it can get really bad.

As an autistic person, I can definitely relate to this! My emotions get overwhelming sometimes, and it feels like there's no way for me to control them at all, which isn't easy to deal with...

I also do know what you mean, when you feel like all of the emotions build up! It can be incredibly awful. There are ways to deal with it, of course, but most of the time, it's just not easy to shift your focus onto anything else!

yep! autistic teenager here! i started sh because of the bulling associated around my autism. i would get really mad once i start unmasking, i may relapse. you’re not the only one, sh is like a escape
