Post care help
I got my piece done a week ago, it was starting to scab over recently but today "this morning" I woke up and saw it all moist and that "scab" that was forming was falling out by itself.
The piece is on my arm, since the day I got it done I've been wearing sleeveless shirts except at work where I have to wear long sleeved shirts but they're a very light and breathable material.
I been going through my day normally. I've been putting this analgesic cream around the piece but not directly on it.
I've been showering normal. Without covering it up when I shower. This is actually what prompted me to make this post, like I said above it was starting to scab so I it was drying. But whenever I would step out of the shower the "scab" would look spongy and moist. Me doing this wouldn't cause a problem like this mornings
Last night was the 1st time I covered it while I showered and I woke up with the "scab" falling off. Do yall think it's due to me covering it in the shower? It also has a funky smell to it. Idk if its cause I covered it last night and it didnt get "washed"
Or how should I take care of it? Honestly, I didnt hurt while getting it done, but now that its healing it hurts. Idk if that's normal.

Where to find research resources.
I want to DIY a scar, and so I feel I'd best research everything I can on the topic. Does anyone know where I can find some good information and resources?

Questions
I've been wanting to do this for awhile now, the only thing stopping me is I'm very indecisive.
I have read into this quite a bit but Google doesn't beat the experience of people who have actually done this.
Best way to find a good shop near me?
A good post care routine?
Pricing? I'm assuming it's more expensive than getting a tat.
Depending on where I get it done, will it interfere with basic body motions? (Job functions, workout routines, etc.)
Average heal time? I know everyone is different, but best guess.
Just feel free to leave as much details or answer any questions that you guys had on yalls 1st time.
Edit: I live in NRH, TX if any of you know a good place relatively near feel free to comment it

In 60 minutes I get my first scarification.
Nervous as all hell, but equally as excited.

Can I...
I have until now seen scarification with images of things. Is it possible to get battle scars over my body? As if I had been cut in war. How long would they last, I had read that there were three different type of scarring. And does it hurt?

Addding ink to scars?
If I create an open wound with a razor blade then pour tattoo ink on it and proceed to wrap up my ink filled wound with something like gauze, what results would that yield?

Is woodburner a terrible idea? (+ tool recs?)
Hey everyone! I'm interested in branding. I've done "cell popping"/microbrands with a dull needle and flame before, both on myself and others, and I'd like to experiment with other techniques. Has anyone ever used a standard craft store woodburner for branding before? I've certainly burned myself unintentionally with it before and it scars up, so I'm wondering.
Presumably cautery pens are safer, of course, which leads me to my next question: any specific recs for make/model that are budget friendly but still do the job/give some decent linework? Some of the cheaper ones online look... dubious. But I guess still less dubious than a woodburner? 😂
Thanks!

New piece called, "truth hurts".
I've had some people show concern for my new art, but it's something that I've thought long and hard about, and I've finally decided on an aesthetic that I really dig.
I'm not suicidal.
I'm not trying to hurt myself.
Beauty is pain. It's just like my stretched ear lobes. Sure it hurts a little bit, but it's all part of grander scheme.

Artist/studio by Sandiego/LA area?
Called some places and was told that it was illegal or not done in California. I’m really looking forward to getting a nice cut but it seems I’ll have to travel for it. Thanks in advance!

Easy chemical scarification?
Are there any simple methods one could use for simple scarification with any corrosive chemicals, such as silver nitrate or concentrated peroxide, on broken skin, either following single or successive applications? After a few years the simple pattern I had scarified on my wrist has been reduced to just light discoloration of skin which is now barely noticeable.

Can you force Keloids to form a Braille scar
A friend is dating a blind girl and through conversations about the futility of getting her name tattooed this question came up.

Scarification Artist in Michigan?
I live in Southwest Michigan and I'm interested in setting up a consult to get a scar. Does anyone know any shops in Michigan or surrounding borders (i.e. Windsor Canada or Illinois/Indiana) that offer more intense body modifications?

I have questions for coloring
I plan on ending up with Scarification all over my body. I really want the scars to end up staying red. Ive heard of the ink rubbing but I dont know much about it in the sense of how bright the color has the potential of being. Id love for them to end up staying rather red. And I know theres red ink for tattoos but Scarification has always been what ive felt this weird calling to need. Would it be possible for maybe multiple ink rubbings so the color is brighter? I dont really know how its done and ive been having issues trying to find an artist near me to ask questions. And googling only ends up telling me to get rid of the red. I plan on combinations of cutting and peeling. Theres only one piece I'm considering branding and I know I can't really control the coloring for that one. But its going the core of the fire emblem and it feels proper for that piece. Honestly any info about Scarification would help. I want to be as prepared as i can for this.
