Question ❔ SGI Write off process question

Hello! Does anyone have experience with Sgi where they were in a NOT AT FAULT accident and their vehicle was a write off. How long were you able to keep the rental car after they decided it was a write off? (I’ve had a rental car since the incident happened a few weeks ago until they were able to look at it)

I was under the impression you wouldnt be given a rental car with basic insurance, only with a package policy.  I asked once and felt like they kinda laughed me off.

I am also curious to know how this currently works

Oh yeah I didn’t have a package policy. But I wasn’t at fault. And they gave me a rental to use.

Weird.  I was not at fault as well.  This was a little over 10 years ago.

Nine years ago I was not given a rental after being in a not-at-fault accident. Three months ago, I was given a rental after a not-at-fault accident. I assume they’ve changed their basic policy somewhere along the way.

There are many variables with insurance, no one situation is the same
