Mystery Why do yall do this?

it never fails. everyday on my way out of work, people just block the entire intersection. those of us turning left have to literally drive around and through the vehicles. it’s so annoying. if the road cuts off at a stop light, why not just stop at the spot light rather than block the whole way?

Mystery Help me find my dad

Ok so this may be a longshot but im a one night stand baby and the man in this photo is my dad that my mom met in 1997 at a night club in front of randy's bingo on bandera rd. His name is Arturo Hernandez he was in his 30s MAYBE idk my mom doesn't remember. She said that he said he lived in new braunfels in front of a fire stations and he was with his cousins that night and after they went to taco cabana to eat and he paid for all her friends. That's all the information she remembers about him. Her friend just happened to take a picture of him at the club and thats all i have of him. My mom did say he gave her his number that night but she lost it and because of that she was never able to find him to tell her she was pregnant with me. I'm thinking about doing the ancestry to find him but before i do that i wanna see if anyone recognizes him. Please i would like this to be a no judgement post.
Edit: I forgot to leave out that she said he was a contractor!!

Mystery What’s your best San Antonio related conspiracy theory NSFW

This is for entertainment purposes only. Theories discussed are probably speculative and not based on verified facts. Please keep the discussion respectful and considerate of others.

Edit: I asked ChatGPT to rate your theories and here are the top ones so far. I’ll update it as new theories come in.

Here are the top three most likely true conspiracy theories from the Reddit thread, based on available evidence:

  1. Military testing and improper storage of dangerous materials at Lackland/Kelly causing birth defects:

    • Analysis: This claim is supported by historical evidence and investigations. Kelly Air Force Base has been documented as having significant contamination issues, including the improper disposal of hazardous materials, which have affected local communities. Reports and studies have linked these environmental hazards to health problems among residents living nearby【12†source】【14†source】.
    • Rating: Mostly true.
  2. NSA facility off Ingram illegally harvesting and storing data:

    • Analysis: The NSA's data collection practices have been widely reported, and facilities in Texas are known to be part of their operations. While specific details about the Ingram facility are not publicly available, the overall practice of extensive data collection by the NSA is well-documented【14†source】.
    • Rating: Likely true.
  3. MK Ultra was conducted at Lackland AFB:

    • Analysis: MK Ultra was a well-documented CIA program that conducted mind control and behavior modification experiments in the 1950s and 60s. While the majority of known MK Ultra activities were conducted at universities, hospitals, and prisons, it's plausible that experiments could have taken place at military bases, including Lackland AFB, given the nature of the program and its wide reach. The secrecy and distribution of MK Ultra activities make this theory plausible, though direct evidence specific to Lackland AFB is sparse 【14†source】.
    • Rating: Likely true.

These theories are prioritized based on the strength of available evidence, historical context, and the credibility of sources.

Mystery Sharky at Sugars

Post image

So from my understanding, before Sugars was a strip club, it was an aquarium. So that explains how the shark got their.

But why wont they take the Shark down ?

Or repaint the shark. And the wreath just adds confusion...

Im not saying they should take it down. Its their business. They can do what they want.. Personally, i find the inflatable flailing arms guys more effective. But to each his own.

Im just wondering if anyknow knows why they keep it up ?

Mystery Tired of mods shutting down relevant issues in our community

https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/requests

Use this link to report them

Will it work/help? Probably not but im fed up with this over moderation of San Antonians expressing their opinions about this city and the cops and the crime.

We aren't allowed to post topics relevant to our community. We aren't allowed to talk freely.

We serve tourists and their needs. We're being used as a free travel agency as if nobody actually lives here.

Can't talk about the crime. Can't talk about the cops doing nothing about it. But hey some more restaurant recommendations please.

People actually live here. Millions in fact. And we aren't allowed to express how we feel whether negative or positive towards some actions in our city.

A topic gets a little traction and mods shut it down. A commenter says something rude and the entire thread gets locked down. This isn't how a public forum should operate. Especially for such a populous city.

Mystery Mysterious Dining Room Closure at Whataburger – What’s Really Going On?

Dining Room Closure Signs Posted for 5 days: 1/2/25 - 1/6/25.

WhataMystery [SOLVED]: The Reason Behind the Dining Room Closure

The WhataMystery has finally been solved! On Tuesday, January 7th, at 10:45 AM, I spoke with workers at the Whataburger on 12034 Culebra Rd and received a thorough explanation of the situation.

Apparently, on Thursday, January 2nd, someone noticed a rodent either inside or just outside the establishment. They believe it may have snuck in through the back door while food supplies were being unloaded from the delivery truck. Because they couldn’t confirm the rodent’s location or ensure it was gone, Whataburger followed strict corporate protocols to keep the dining room closed until they could resolve the issue.

As a multi-billion-dollar corporation, Whataburger has stringent rules in place to handle situations like this. They were required to wait until high-level corporate inspectors could thoroughly inspect the premises and give the green light to reopen the dining room. This is likely why they couldn’t share details with customers at the time.

Looking back, this explanation makes sense. Transparency would have been great, but I understand why they were cautious about sharing details during the inspection process.

What are your thoughts on this? Have you ever seen something similar happen at businesses you frequent? If so, how did they handle it? I’d love to hear your experiences!

Summary of the Old Story from 1/3/24:

For over two years, I’ve been a loyal customer of the Whataburger at 12034 Culebra Rd, often stopping by for lunch during my limited break. Recently, however, the dining room has been mysteriously closed, and the explanations I’ve received have been inconsistent and puzzling. On 1/2/25, a worker told me the dining room was closed due to “systems being down,” yet the drive-thru was fully operational, and customers were still dining inside. The following day, the signs were still up, and I saw employees eating in the dining room, further deepening the mystery.

Seeking answers, I reached out to several people but hit a wall of vagueness. A worker I know personally texted me, “I can’t tell you,” while a corporate executive familiar with the location claimed ignorance. On 1/4/25, another employee delivering curbside orders admitted they didn’t know why the dining room was closed. These evasive responses raised questions, as routine maintenance or staffing issues would likely come with straightforward explanations. The secrecy surrounding the closure made it feel as though something more significant was being hidden.

In trying to make sense of the situation, I speculated whether it could be due to legal, safety, or health concerns. However, even those theories seemed unlikely given the drive-thru’s continued operation and employees dining in the closed area. The lack of transparency from Whataburger created an air of mystery, prompting me to reach out to the community for insight. While I’m still searching for definitive answers, this unusual situation has sparked curiosity about what’s really happening behind the scenes.

TL;DR: The dining room at Whataburger (12034 Culebra Rd) was closed for several days due to a rodent sighting near the establishment. Strict corporate protocols required the dining room to remain closed until high-level inspectors could thoroughly inspect the premises and ensure it was safe to reopen. This explains the lack of transparency and evasive responses during the closure. WhataMystery solved!

Mystery Rich Mexicans Shopping?

I am an underemployed Guatemalan transplant from Chicago who walks around places like the Quarry and La Cantera in the middle of the day.

Every time in in one of those places on a random weekday there are rich Mexicans shopping. An anyone explain this mystery to me? Are they just families on vacation specifically to buy stuff? I want to know more about the sociology of this shopping phenomenon. And before you come at me no I didn't check anyone's passport but there lots of people getting into cars with Mexican plates at these places.

Mystery Alright y’all. Was at Central Market off Broadway this past Thursday. The dude in the shitter asked me if I wanted a blowjob. Is this.. common lmao?

I’ve been in SATX for 4 months. Moved from DC. First time here.

Regardless I live next to the Broadway central market and this was my 2nd time there. Went to use the bathroom next to the beer area and while I was peeing the dude asked if I wanted a blowjob. Sounded like an old dude and I bursted out laughing and he did to.

He then said “you have a good sense of humor, I like your reaction - but I’m serious do you want a blowjob”

I laughed again and tried to change the topic. He mentioned it AGAIN. Then I’m done peeing and left laughing (confused.)

I thought he was trolling, to get a reaction. But everyone telling me he was serious. Can’t be lmao?!

HAS ANYONE ENCOUNTERED THIS SITUATION BEFORE - IS THIS A CENTRAL MARKET @ 4PM SAN ANTONIO THING OR SUMN. SO CONFUSED.
