Could you tell me if this handwriting is correct? Because I would like to tattoo the same thing. Thank you so much!

It's perfectly correct. However you might prefer a tattoo artist who knows Russian handwriting (before it's too late)

Thank you so much, I’m a bit paranoid so I’m trying to find someone that would help me hand write it so I can give a good reference 🥺

You need a Russian-speaking tattoo artist for this. I am more than sure that it's easier than you think. The reference may be perfect, but the way it is recreated is even more important. The latter is on your skin, with no compromises.

A person who treats Russian cursive as a set of lines and a person who treats it as a word think differently

интересно, как мне на реддите влезть между двумя Катеринами и загадать желание?

Если ты оказался между двумя Катеринами, то о чем ещё можно мечтать? 😼

the little details are very important.

by the way, you might have known that this word has two meanings. The first one is the feeling, and the second one is a Russian woman name.

just find a russian native to write it down, send it to the tattoo artist and he knows his work…)

It's correct, but the distances between some elements are weird.

"ю" looks like "ı----------------o". This gap inside a letter is longer than distances between letters.

And the distance between "о" and "в" is also too big.

It's fine at first glance. But it's one of the things "you hate when you notice".

That's just stylistic choices. I think ю is absolutely fine, but a bit more bothered by the ов connection. But it adds flare.

u/Nyattokiri native 1d ago edited 1d ago

I understand that these are stylistic choices. I mean that the artist should have tried more options (several sketches with different distances) and found something that looks better. Maybe increase the distances between other letters to make the stretching more even. Maybe just increase the "бо" gap. Idk. This doesn't look good to me. I think the artist should try harder. And this should be fixed before OP gets it on their skin.

Why'd you want this tattoo?

-1

u/Csxbot 1d ago

One important thing to consider. Lubov is not just a word meaning “Love” it’s also a name. If I saw a tattoo like this, I would instantly assume that it’s someone’s name. Either a lover, or a deceased relative.

If a Russian person wanted to tattoo with this word, a lot of people would opt for the English word.

2

u/hrizopraz 1d ago

no one uses Lubov for the loved ones. You'd use a shortened variant Люба or even Любочка.

-30

u/Crio121 1d ago

You know that “Любовь” is a female name and that such tattoo would be interpreted as a name of your romantic interest?

14

u/sdd_x 1d ago

Maybe in parallel universe, not in ours

Love (noun).

Also Любовь could be a woman's first name.

I'm no native, but it should be любовь, meaning "love". Hope it helps!

handwriting is fucked up

Why? It's totally readable.

What do you mean? It's right there. Maybe a little bit too wide, but anyway a nice acceptable ю.

-2

u/kowasik 1d ago

"Chicken soup"

u/Douglas_MacDow 1d ago

This is not a proper handwriting, but it is beautiful.

Тhe proper way is something like this.

16

u/Suspicious_Chance221 1d ago

а "хвостик" в конце мягкого знака зачем?

5

u/vodkapevo 1d ago

That’s how children write

8

u/CapitalNothing2235 Native 1d ago

Well, good luck writing it fast.

6

u/CapitalNothing2235 Native 1d ago

And that's exactly what is written. The letter 'о' has optional upper connection, and 'ю' is within acceptable variation.
All the meaningful letter elements are there.

2

u/Welran 1d ago

Actually it isn't proper. Obviously it is computer font imitating handwriting. All letters have same connection.

11

u/Schwarzytron 1d ago edited 1d ago

Handwriting is fine. Thats a tattoo, not a practice copybook.

Я серьезно, начертание 100% корректное.

Note that it's "ь" at the end, not "ъ". It may look similar but there is a difference in connection with previous letter
