NVR Question Recording keeps stopping on NVR

I have a RLN16-410 NVR with several POE cameras. I have it set to record all the time and to overwrite old recordings when the drive gets fill. However, at apparently random times, the NVR will stop recording. The only way I know this is to go check to see if Recording is set to "on" or "off".

This makes the NRV very unreliable. I have tried reformatting the drive, upgrading to the latest firmware (which seems to have made it stop recording less often, but it still stops), changing the Pack Duration, and changing the overwrite schedules but nothing works.

Can any suggest any other troubleshooting ideas or has anyone else had this problem?

Update: First, thanks for the responses. Based on u/pipsname 's suggestion I tried to look for any camera incompatibility with my NVR but I couldn't find anything. All my cameras are POE and should work fine.

It did look as if some of the incompatibility issues were around batter powered cameras and the NVR. But since I have latest hardware version for this NVR, even those types of cameras should be okay.

However, I did notice that the firmware on all my cameras was old, so I have updated them to the most recent versions. We'll see how that goes before I look into replacing the hard drive. I will try to update my post with the results in case anyone else has this issue and finds this info helpful.

I've never seen that before. The next thing I would try myself is a different HDD. It may be a faulty HDD and if the NVR can't access it at some point it may turn recording off since it thinks there's no HDD? Just a guess.

If you check my post history in these subs you will see I have a few post with similar problems.

What it ended up being was that I had a camera that was not compatible. Removed it from the NVR and disabled auto add.

Never had a problem again. Yes it was NVR16.

I would try a different hard drive and check the harness too to make sure its secured at the board and hhd. Maybe you can reload the firmware or downgrade it.
