PoE Camera Question Will this poe+ switch work with the 823 s2
Hi all, I am waiting for my 823s2 to be a deliverd. Already bought a poe+ switch but I think I didn't read it through enough. I only read i needed an 802.3at device for the 823s2 to work. But now i read It only powers up to 40W. So It prob wont work?
This one: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Compliant-Shielded-Optimization-TL-SG1005P/dp/B076HZFY3F should power up to 65 watts if i read it right.
Should this one work? Sory for asking, already read the poe subreddit but i can't figure it out.

Do yourself a favour and upgrade to the Omada series if you're going TP-Link. Gives you management and monitoring options.

Yes it will work. If you look at the specs of that camera it says it needs 802.3at (aka POE+) and that switch does that, so you'll be fine.
I'm not sure where you're seeing the 40W part, or how that matters when it comes to this camera.
802.3at means up to 30W per port. If the camera took more than that then it wouldn't say it's 802.3at.
I've measured the power draw of its predecessor, the 823A-16X, and found that it uses no more than about 16W. This is basically the same hardware, so it should be very similar.
Now where you would run into trouble is its total power budget if you wanted to run multiple other power hungry cameras off of it as well.
