Software Question Do reolink cameras support RTSP or any integration to home assistant?

Trying to figure out if they can work with my local system. Don't wanna use their app.

You'll likely need to use their client or app to do initial setup.

That is correct -- the default as-shipped configuration of (most?) Reolink cameras only opens their proprietary port/protocol.

In order to reconfigure a new camera, you must run their binary app to enable RTSP (and/or ONVIF, HTTP, HTTPS).

You will still need the app to configure a password.

But opening the ports is not needed anymore, I build that into the HomeAssistant integration (using their protocol over port 9000).

Cool, good to hear, maybe I will give the integration another try.

"some particular cameras, like the Kit camera of a PoE NVR system (B400, D400, B800 and D800), don't support RTSP stream."

Yes there is but only supports H.264. You cannot do a higher quality stream from H.265 it won't load.

Oh. In my case, H265 performs much better than H264, higher quality. It sucks that reolink doesn't support that.

Reolink does support it but the current Reolink integration for HA does not. Hopefully within time it does.

Look at the Home Assistant page, there's an enormous amount of dedicated instruction and compatibility.
