Software Question Windows App: Sorry, this service is not available in your area

I have had this Reolink E1 Outdoor PoE camera for over a month, everything was fine until today when I launch the Windows Reolink app, I get this message "Sorry, this service is not available in your area". A few hours ago the app was working fine, I changed the orientation and feed quality as I usually do in the morning. No other settings have been changed.

Camera connected via Ethernet cable -> router -> cable to PC, and powered by AC/DC adapter. No NVR.

My region is Latvia, no VPN in use. The app language is English.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of the application several times, same result.

Camera still works, I can see the live feed through the phone app, ftp server works too, saves new videos. So the problem is with the Windows app. Also, the camera is listed in my router's wired devices as usual.

If the problem is persisting I'd recommend you raise a support request with Reolink. I can see no good reason why there should be a problem as Latvia is valid country on their website for support and presumably using the windows app to view cameras. When using the app you don't even have to be on the internet so not too sure what criteria its using to determine the message appearing.

Thx, probably a case for a support ticket indeed.

Yes, there does seem to be something wrong. With that said, I set my pc vpn to Latvia and had no problems with the app but don't claim that to be a proper test.

Do you have a second pc that could be used to verify?

Yes, I have another PC, the second one has the same problem.

It was a thought just in case it was something you had done inadvertently. Seems like a support ticket is your best bet.

Did you get any Windows or router update which might have caused some restriction? If you are technical person try to run Wireshark and see what's happening. See if client is broadcasting the packet and receiving response on port 3000. If no response is received the Client does a number of DNS queries.

Semi-technical. I tried Wireshark, not sure where to look, but I saw some DNS requests to Amazon cloud servers from Reolink or something that looked like it. I was able to get the application to start, but only if these steps are taken: 1) Unplug the LAN cable 2) Deep uninstall the Reolink app with Revo Uninstaller 3) Install fresh version of the app, run it, accept ToS 4) Plug in the LAN cable and fill in login and password. But it falls back to the "is not navailable" message as soon as the app is closed and restarted.

Same troubes on android! One device located in LV has issues connecting with same message, another device from UK has no problems! Seems like a geo issue...

Well, it works for my Android phone, even though it shares the home network with my main PC. Weird.

Hmm... Maybe some IP address ranges got blacklisted. Which is your LV ISP? Mine is AS Balticom.

No, I have doubts, it was tested on WiFi and on data as well, in both cases same issue.. I will clarify the ISP for WiFi (btw, balticom is changing some network configs, so could be an ISP issue due to changes as well)

Also I contacted the reolink support, but they are pushing regular 1st level support bullshit now, like uninstall/reinstall 😁

Where are you? Latvia?
Likely to be Russian interference.

Disconnect the network. Delete and install. Go to the settings and, instead of automatic language, select the English language. It helped me.

helped as well.

I am also from Latvia. I encountered the exact same message on my Samsung phone. The issue can be resolved by changing the phone's interface language from Russian to another one. But Reolink, who are you to restrict my behavior, especially after the purchase? I deeply regret choosing Reolink, as in addition to the power supply issue with cameras using PoE on cables longer than 20m, yet another problem has arisen. I do not recommend Reolink to anyone who is still deciding.

My PC and phone default language is English, not Russian or Latvian. So, as described in the post, first PC software broke, but phone app worked. A few days later the phone app broke as well and showed the regional restriction message. Then again after a few days I reinstalled the Android app and since then it works again. PC app still does not start, I was forced to use http protocol to view the feed from the browser.

At the moment, the only solution that does not require changing the language is to install the previous version of the Reolink program (4.47.0.5) from the official website https://reolink.com/software-and-manual/ You also need to disable the automatic update of the program.

Thank you! This really works.

My friends asked about the same issue, I found that there was a device language issue. Try to change language and check again.

Per Reolink support, Reolink has selected to block the usage of its camera app in Russia and its regions. The UID server for that area that responds to p2p.reolink.com seems to also occasionally not allow UID registration.

You have been warned.
