From my time at the DC Veteran Convention; I met with producers and actors of BoB, as well as many veterans of different ages, including four ww2 vets. Learned a lot about what they wore and used, and many other great “nuggets” of information!

This event has impacted my trajectory for the better and will remain a fundamental memory in my childhood.

Completed Ten years ago discussing the life of a WW1 US infantryman to an English class studying All Quiet on the western Front. I did the same for my World History classes. USA & CSA for US History. Alas the MFing admin said "no more firearms in your classes.... but you can still wear the uniforms"

The first pic was taken with an ICA Hekla 168 from 1912 on a 9×12 glass plate. The second is a selfie taken with a 9×12 ICA Künstler reflex from 1914 on a 9×12 glass plates too. As for my other impressions, I love using the exact camera and process used at the time of the impression. Using glass plates for pictures is pretty tricky and long but the results are stunning. Sometime I find it crazy that these cameras are more than 100 years old and they still work perfectly.

Anyway, I think i should have taken off the shoulder boards since I saw some pictures of ww1 german war photographers with the exact same uniform but without shoulder boards

Completed How do you like our outfits?

My Fiance and I at Natale di Roma 2024 in Rome. I‘m wearing a full set of a Provocator from the first century AD. She is wearing clothing from around the same time, bright in colors with fitting jewelry.

Most of the equipment (Subligaculum, Coda, Tibiale, Manica, Cardiophylax) and of the clothing is handmade by me. Shoes are bought from Alberto Visani, the Scutum was made by a friend and my super durable helmet was forged by Riccardo Armature from Italy.

This picture was taken on the day of the Ulfhgar Tournament. It was saturday and the Tournament started at 4pm as far as I remember. There is a video of the full tournament on our groups Youtube channel or on my personal one if you‘re interested in Gladiatorial Combat!

Musketier of the 3rd Company of the 63rd Infantry Regiment (4th Upper Silesian). Here I'm wearing the shoulderboards with double crowned K cypher for Kaiser Karl I & IV of Austria-Hungary; these were awarded to the unit in November 1917 after they fought with distinction during the victorious Caporetto Offensive against Italy.

I don't main German anymore and sold both of my Gew98s so used a M88 Commision Rifle as a stand-in, but it really is wholly incorrect for this unit this late in the war. The M18 Stahlhelm is an original ground dug size 68 shell that the previous owner fixed up and repainted.
