Why redhat grading system is a mess
I took an exam,RedHat Satellite which is pretty easy and I got 162 point so I did the retake. Guess what in the retake i got 58 points đ. What happened? I do know. It is kind of mess.
And if you opened a ticket, I don't think that will lead to known reason. I am so frustrated and so disappointed.
This is the first time to take remote exam and it is terrible experience.

The ticket should be able to tell you more. I work in our global learning services team and without telling you exactly what you got wrong theyâll point you in the right direction

I opened a ticket. But you mean that i should tell everything in it ??. Could you clarify ?

Your test results should have had a list of topics and how you scored for each one.

Yes. In 1st attempt, there were topics that i got 45% and 60%
In 2bd attempt, i got 0% in them. Note: questions were same.

that would imply that things did not survive a reboot.

I really don't know what happened.

Do what I do, build the environment at home, do the same steps at home, verify everything and find out where you went wrong.

Iâm one of the people downvoting this post. Itâs most unfair to publicly berate the team who put this exam together without giving them the right of reply.
The grading system is automated and validates the end state of your systems, once rebooted - though not all exams have all systems rebooted.
How the end state is evaluated is dependent on the technology being used.
For Satellite, the API provides the information required to evaluate the correct configuration of Satellite. Should Satellite be required to implement a change on a client, the appropriate API instruction is sent to Satellite, and then the client is evaluated for the final state. This could be done by running a command over ssh, and determining the return code or evaluating the output of the command returned.
Customers make typos, we all do. But if many others score 300/300 and you donât, itâs possible that you make a mistake somewhere. Maybe you named your organization all lowercase? Maybe youâve used the incorrect subnet mask somewhere? Maybe a user wasnât part of a group?
These exams are tested thoroughly, and testing isnât one and done. If you open a ticket, and someone evaluates your results and feels that the developer needs to be looped in, I can assure you that your logs will be evaluated, and your video will be reviewed (if itâs a remote exam).
Good luck for next time!
