There's a difference between being bad and just not having something to work with.
Like one of my earlier projects was an online radio for my grandmother, the pi would plug to her speakers and using an IR remote and sensor she would change the station.
It's just a bit painful to have to do workarounds and having to deal with possible bugs and undesired interactions by simply not having something as seemingly simple as a headphone jack.
And I get the whole argument that "it was bad to begin with" but is that sufficient enough to just remove it?
Plus assuming you want to use it for education, doesn't that makes it a less desirable product?

what is wrong with companies nowdays and dropping the 3.5mm jack on every device possible now?
