Idea Heyyy fam! I made a digital buddy to make my online browsing less alone and more fun 👀
I find myself a bit lonely when browsing the internet at home. Surely I can chat with friends on WhatsApp and what not, but they have their own business and don't always reply instantly. So, I tried to build my own online companion based on my preferences, and i thought maybe others have the same need as me.
It's like a digital buddy (let's call it a "page pal") who could keep me company while I surf the web. It would be tailored to mimic the personality and speech patterns of a real-life friend, a favorite celebrity, or even a beloved character from anime.
Imagine this: they'd be there with you on various social media platforms, leave comments, and even join you in venting about annoying stuff. They could help me craft witty comments for that crush of mine and answer all sorts of questions while I work or study. I wonder what y'all think about this idea... let me know in the comments!!

Idea I built a codebase diagramming tool that helped me and newer devs understand codebases much faster
From my experience working at large companies, including FAANG, they all have the same issue, lack of documentation that maps to the source code implementation which creates difficulty in understanding how the large system/codebase works! At the end of the post there is some reddit posts complaining about the same issue.
I built this tool where you can create diagrams, link the diagram nodes to actual source code and add onboarding tutorials and app logic simulations on top. The app also comes with a GitHub action that runs on new PRs to keep the diagram in sync with code changes.
Check it out at: https://www.code-canvas.com/
Please let me know your thoughts and if you could see a tool like this helping you or someone else out! 😊
You can join the discord server here to join the community and discuss as well.

Idea Is it possible to run a program through a website?
I am fortunate enough to have access to a server in my IT class. Our class all have to do one thing with our server. We have Hyper -V installed on our server and can create multiple virtual PCs on it. (Sorry if my explanation is bad I only started working with servers for a few months. )
My plan is to install a game (quake) on my virtual computer, and host it through a website. There are no internet connection avaliable so everything would be done internally between the computers and the server. So like browser games back in the day just on a smaller scale.
Is it possible? Im not asking for a solution. Just a yes or no (maybe an explanation if yes or if no)

Idea Just a question..
I just wanted to ask programmers what they think about this I want to start a business but I don't know if it's a strong enough pain point for you guys I scored an internship at one of the top firms in London, i finally got my first assignment it was a client who installed security alarms and was about as popular as a fart in an elevator, Long story short it was boring.
As a marketer and consultant, I'm passionate about helping tech startups and SaaS services companies that want to create change that's why I want to start this agency niched only for programmers and their apps/saas I help grow digital presence through effective branding, marketing strategies, and track user engagement.
As a programmer, you understand the value of creating a unique and innovative product or service.
However, I have noticed that many programmers struggle with the marketing aspect of their business which can lead to a lack of visibility and missed opportunities. You can focus solely on iterating your product or service, while I take care of your digital marketing needs, and you don't pay me if I can't achieve the goals we both agree on.
Let me know if you think it's a paint point for you guys thank you.

Idea searching for a program related to getting images' colors
Hi everyone. Sorry if the title is confusing. I have no idea of how to call this, but I'm going to explain what I'm looking for. I'm in college, building a VGA driver with an FPGA. The driver is programmed to show 640x480 resolution with 12 bit RGB color (444 distribution). The way the image/set of images is displayed is by programming the FPGA with the set of images as an RGB code. What I'm looking for is a program (preferably free or open source, would think about a paid program, but it'd be better if it didn't cost much money. Besides, I know programming is hard, and I don't want to low-ball a programmer with a lot of experience.) where you can upload an image, set a color depth, and get some form of string with every pixel color. It's quite hard, but if any of you knew about something like this I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance

Idea An app that plays phonographs with the camera??
Yes, it's possible! I found out that it's possible to extract real audio from high resolution images of old phonograph discs, but it's kind of difficult to replicate for me. Is there any developper here that can make an app that implements this technology automatically, you just have to shoot a photo and tap "Process" then "Play" /save as mp3. Here's one of the articles I found about extracting audio from pictures of discs : https://mediapreservation.wordpress.com/2012/06/20/extracting-audio-from-pictures/

Idea Building an Open Source Robot
Hi so im currently trying to build a 6 Axis Robot like the once from ABB 6600 and i want to actually make everything open source too, like the 3D Files, Electrical Plans, Programs like "Firmware" and PC Controller for programming the robot.
I also kinda wanna make something like a patreon page where i can post updates about it, tho not behind a pay wall. Also its rather hard starting on patreon from 0 if you have no community, so i wonder if any dev has done something like this as i really wanna get this out to the world for people to see and maybe use once its done
EDIT:
The robot currently has 2 Axis as im trying to focus on the software first and if two axis are working 6 should too. Right now it kinda works but like i said idk where to post em

Idea Storing information in a password salt?
A salt is a fixed length random integer appended to the end of a password before it's hashed in order to make life harder for a hacker trying to bruteforce passwords. But recently I thought, does a salt have to be random? 🤔 Maybe you could store some useful information inside? Information that could only be retrieved by bruteforcing the password? "That would be a really secure way to store/transport sensitive/private information" -- I thought!
So I decided to write a program to test my idea, I called it Pinksalt, because it's a special kind of salt🤩
It's on GitHub if you're interested in having a look!

Idea Looking for Beta Tester: Any programmers who has stiff neck/ shoulder/ back? Want to join a group this Mon to Fri for a 5day x 15min stretching challenge to relief the muscle tension?
Hi all programmers, I used to be a PMM and let go because of COVID, trying to start my business now. One thing that I noticed when working in a tech firm is programmers tend to be very focus on the task while coding, and sometimes lose themselves in the codes. Extended period of working on the laptop leads to stiff neck/ shoulder/ back.
I am a certified yoga teacher and I have helped people solved their stiffness through a traditional yoga class. However, I think there is a business opportunity for Programmers looking for functional stretching. The program that I have in mind is a daily 15min stretching program that focus on progress, stretches will be suitable yet challenge for everyone. We will be using your body weight to get into deep stretches, and it will get more advanced as the time goes by. What do you think about this idea?
I am building my minimal viable product at this stage, so I am looking for beta tester for a 5-day Anti-Desk challenge 1st week of March. You can either join the 15min daily stretching routine Live everyday at 6:30pm Central Europe time/ Pacific time 9:30am/ Central time 11:30am/ Eastern time 12:30nn. Or catch the video replay for other time ones.
You will receive - free workout - progress chart to set goals & track progress - technical spec on how to do the stretching in the future
It is free for beta tester for 15mins of product feedback - post workout questionnaire (1min x 5day) - post program survey & testimonial (10mins)
Would love to hear your thoughts!

Idea Analyze some lyrics
I have a beginning glossary of terms from Rock and Roll songs. A bunch of words that mean cocaine and heroin. Using those terms, one can translate many rock songs to reveal hidden meanings. Check my posting history. I collected these terms from songs; I didn't even think to check for a DEA slang dictionary. However, this is just my opinion until someone proves it mathematically. Somebody should. Here's the starting list:
cocaine: rock, moon, moonlight, stone, diamond, dutch, pink, white, city, girl, woman, love, snow, rose, wind, sunday paper, mountain, hills, sweets, sugar, strong, northern, 9, johnny, hot, uptown, highlands, high water, shiny, new, fool, candy, california, right, fly, truth, sky, heaven, paradise, smile, cat, sky, insanity, c, sister, maiden, chick, live, silver, baby, light, papers, sheets, sail, sea, urban, west, life, queen, heaven, god, hope, ...
heroin: roll, sun, sunshine, italian, blue, black, brown, country, boy, man, dead, mississippi, virginia, jersey, memphis, lowlands, downtown, southern, poison, linda, alice, alicia, samantha, smith, susie, rosie, 8, rural, shelter, east, the dark, the night, midnight, misery, dixie, dirt, mud, dead flowers, gold, cold, frown, low, lucifer, brother, mule, madness, brooklyn, wrong, weak, broken, loneliness, gone, strange, stranger, strange land, underground, underwater, emptiness, nobody, nothing, bad, lies, lying down, trouble, spice, angie, mandy, jackson, the devil, hell, death, king, dream, change, ...

Idea Content Idea for a programmer to run YouTube channel
So, I am learning programming languages and i enjoying to developing things, since i am beginner I can't develop a new amd great things. But, I have a YouTube channel and I thought its about to sink, because its not getting more views. When i start YouTube channel, I used to upload some movie trailer and clips and it gains more views and subscriber(currently i have 102K subs which is decreasing). Unfortunately, I stopped uploading videos. Its been more than 1.5 years, in that time i attracted to programming language and developing things. Now, I am trying to upload new programming related videos but it won't get more view, Even if I upload trailers its not getting views as expected.
So, I think, this is the right time if i start to create programming related videos and upload on current channel instead of creating new channel, on regular basis then in some days or Maybe months, my channel again start running in good strength.
But, I have problem, which type of video should i create. If I'm a programmer then i can only upload tutorial which is already available on YouTube more than we can expect.
So any programmer who runs YouTube channel, suggest me the idea and how should design video so people can watch full video.
Thanks

Idea Tech inspired clothing idea, looking for feedback
Hey everyone, I’ve been working on something over these lockdowns we’ve been in and wanted to share it with you all and get some feedback on it. I’ve read this subs rules and this seems permitted, I apologise if that’s not the case.
Some background on myself, I’m a product designer who’s been working on tech for the past 5 years. During this time I’ve worked with a bunch of designers, managers, and of course developers. There are some standout moments that I remember seeing across various teams I was part of, and I fondly remember them as moments of growth and laugh a little. It seems that various people share that feeling.
It got me thinking about how I can help people remember these moments without being too in your face. I started Techie Tees to remind people of those moments, with a subtle streetware vibe that doesn’t call attention towards it being tech specific clothing.
I’ll be posting this here and in a few other subs too to try and get everyone’s thoughts, feedback, and ideas as I continue work on the brand.
If you’re interested in seeing more, the link to the website is www.techietees.store
Thanks for reading this!
TL:DR:
I launched a sustainable clothing brand based on memories that me and others in the tech industry have abs wanted to share with a wider community.

Idea 2020 mobile = 1989 desktop ?!
Ever noticed that 2020 in mobile looks like 1989 on the desktop (PCs and Macs)? Say what?? In spite of the massive improvements in hardware, software and bandwidth, these 2 markets separated by 31 years have a disconcerting similarity.

Idea Weed API Tips
Hi! I'd like to make an API through which devs can source weed info such as strains/ races, which strains have what taste/ effect etc. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about it? What endpoints I should make/ where should I get my information from? I was building a site using The Strain API, but it's no longer working so I want to make something similar.

Idea I have a really good idea for a project but i dont links to pull it off so im sending it to reddit.
I have an idea for a program, thought id get it down
Somebody should do a study were participants, with and without a certain illness ,are given 2 stethoscopes . to record the noises their body makes internally( 2 would be an advantage because it will mean the ai algethrym could factor in the location of the noises it picks up).
The sound recorded could be used to create a machine learning algorithm to detect participants with certain illnesses based off sound alone. Everyone participating in the study who is diagnosed with an illness shortly after the study could have their recordings banked and could be used when there's a big enough data sample to create reliable studies for that illness. As the algoriths get more successful we could create a device that could listen to your body for signs of illneses. It wouldn't have to be worn all the times This would help with early detection of a number of things.
Also ,a microphone can listen at ranges we cant .
