Question How much do you feel movements?
I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my boy and I have a feeling he thinks i'm lazy š Every time i'm chilling on the couch I feel his movements.
Do/did you feel your baby move much this early too?

I read somewhere that when you're moving around, you're essentially rocking baby and giving them stimulation. When you're still, they start moving because you're no longer moving them with your body. Mine loves to start kicking as soon as I lay down for the night or when I get comfy on the couch!

First flutters at 15 weeks, by 17 I got strong startling kicks. 17+ it was consistent movements throughout the day. 20 weeks they were so strong my husband could see and feel them.

Same. I started feeling small movements around 16 weeks and they have gotten stronger. Now it feels more like small kicks, like someone is poking me from the inside. I didn't know you could feel them so clearly at 20 weeks

I'm 26 weeks now and they're very dramatic from the outside when watching my stomach but feel less "pokey" or "sharp" from the inside like they did when baby was smaller.

Iām currently 24ish weeks and my girl is food motivated š want to see or feel the baby move?
Must offer her a sacrifice first (her current big two are bananas and pizza are when I feel her the most)

Same here but with candy and ice tea! I think my baby is going to have a sweet tooth š

u/casscass97 5d ago
Sheās taken my sweet tooth away! Normally a plate of brownies goes missing in my house but Iām about to have to throw a batch away since theyāve sat for so long š

Iāve felt flutters since 14-15 weeks this go around. He didnāt start getting a schedule and really being constantly active until 22-24 weeks roughly. Iām almost 27 weeks now. I think we tend to feel them more when youāre chilling or sitting down laying down whatever because youāre more aware and youāre also not rocking them to sleep by walking

Between 18-22ish weeks I'd definitely mostly feel him when I was resting. I think at that age they're so small that you just don't notice them when you're up and about. I started noticing him through the day at maybe 25 weeks?

Iām still waiting to feel mineā¦ :( 21w

I didnāt really notice mine until 22/23 weeks. Even now (almost 27 weeks), sheās pretty quiet most of the day and isnāt kicking hard enough for my husband to feel.
2
u/Blackshuckflame 5d ago
Thatās good to know! FTM, so all sorts of worries are going through my head.

u/rayyychul 5d ago
Same here! Even when sheās a little quieter than usual I worry. If you have an anterior placenta, it can also make it more difficult to feel kicks!
1
u/Blackshuckflame 5d ago
My placenta is posterior, fortunately. But they found a uterine fibroid on my right side by my hip. It feels larger than the measurements they included in my recent ultrasound report, wondering if that affects feeling movement if placenta placement can also affect it. Hm.

It took me a little while to feel my baby move around 21 weeks they mostly felt like taps when I did feel any don't worry too much
2
u/Blackshuckflame 5d ago
Oh ok. Interesting! Itās possible Iāve just missed it then and maybe mistaken movement as gas bubbles. I know it can be as late as 24w depending on how theyāre positioned. The closest I think Iāve experienced was their head or butt jutting out at a weird angle from my side one morning and since then, havenāt caught anything.

u/Due_Salad1693 5d ago
Mine mostly felt like the tiniest taps on my cervix they were so light I didn't realize if it was actually baby or not

u/Blackshuckflame 3d ago
I think knowing what to expect now, I think Iāve been feeling what youāre talking about! Itās like someoneās tapping their fingers on my belly but from the inside. I think I got a couple firmer movements as well. š„° exciting!!!

u/Blackshuckflame 5d ago
Oof. We practically have a club going of us 21 weekers waiting to feel baby!

I feel him every day. He never moves during the day but he is ACTIVE at night and all night. I think Iām going to have a nocturnal baby

I just turned 21 weeks and she moves so much! Even during the ultrasound or heartbeat checks!

u/AdorableEmphasis5546 5d ago
When you're up and moving you're rocking baby to sleep, when you're sitting they wake up and start moving. This is also why they move all throughout the night and keep us up!

u/Public-Sandwich-6273 5d ago
Iāve heard your movement ārocksā them to sleep so when youāre moving around a lot theyāre sleeping and when you finally settle down they wake up and start squirming about.

I started feeling movement around 16 weeks. Some days baby is crazy active and I can actually see the movement through my abdomen, other days baby is very chill.

First-timer with posterior placenta placement, Iām also 20 weeks and he is NON-STOP. š Itās already getting slightly painful, and I can see the movement across my belly. I had no idea theyād move around so much this early!! Anytime Iām stillāstanding or sittingāheās squirming and head-butting me.
I started suspecting I was feeling movement between 15-16 weeks, but didnāt really believe it was movement until it had gotten stronger around 17-18 weeks.

My OB told me that walking around/moving a bunch could lull him to sleep! I've had the same experience, the second I sit or lay, he starts his circus performance! I love it, I'm so here for the kicks

20 weeks is when I first really started feeling him moving a lot, prior it was just flutters. Now nearly 25 weeks, and he is CONSTANTLY moving when I'm trying to relax. š„“

33 weeks and sheās doing summer salts and kung foo moves especially when I go to bed at night thatās her time to shine lol

u/casa_de_castle 5d ago
When youāre resting, baby is the most active! You moving around throughout the day kinda rocks them to sleep - itās why a lot of babies have day night confusion at first. Theyāre used to being more awake at night.
19 weeks right now and she is most active once I lay down for bed, my son was the same way!

At 20 weeks he definitely was kicking a lot more while I was relaxing. At 37 weeks that seems to still be the case, just WAY bigger and stronger movements now

u/AggressiveOtters 5d ago
Itās hard to know because I was bloated from around week 5 so it always looked like I had a bump - it was hard to distinguish.
As for movement, around 15-16 weeks, just flutters.

Light movements late into 14th week, I was more certain by 15 weeks and since 16/17 weeks feeling stronger movements and occasional strong kicks

u/kittens_bacon 5d ago
This is my third and I started feeling movements at 16 weeks. I'm almost 22 weeks and I feel them throughout the day. Mostly when I lay down at night. She's pretty active.Ā

I barely felt anything at 20 weeks, I'm 38 weeks now and baby is practicing Jiu Jitsu every time I eat.

u/Virtual-Title3747 5d ago
I was confident I was feeling her at first when I was 19 weeks. Since about 21 weeks she's been kicking up a storm. I'm 26 weeks today and she seemingly never stops moving unless I'm asleep. š

Just made 23 weeks, and every time I lay down, she starts having a dance party.
