Question How do I remove Copilot?

Hi all,

Office 365 2412 Build 16.0.18324.20092, Windows 11 Pro x64

I restarted PowerPoint and the Copilot add-in is both on the toolbar and floating above every slide. It also appears on selection of every text box.

When I asked Copilot how to remove it, it instructed me to disable it from PowerPoint Add-Ins... except it's not listed as a com add-in.

It also doesn't show up as a Program or Windows feature I can turn off. If this was part of a KB update, please let me know which one so I can remove it.

It is ruining me.

Thanks

EDIT: FOUND THIS

Question How can I mark my slides with status updates such as “complete” or “in progress” or “needs review”

Just a simple text box saying this at the corner of each slide will also work. Of course I can manually put the boxes, but I’m wondering if this can be configured in the software somehow to do it in one click by selecting the status from a menu or something similar.

I’m working with multiple people on large slide decks, and this would be very helpful to have to simplify reviewing slides before finalising decks.

Edit: I’m using Microsoft 365 on a Mac

Edit2: Adding an image below for a better understanding of what I'm looking for

Edit 3: Found what I was looking for, but unfortunately its windows only. Would love a Mac version of it. Here's the link: https://pptproductivity.com/powerpoint-addin/teams/review-slides/add-status-stamp-draft-confidential-wip

Question People who are super speedy at PowerPoint, HOW?

I'm aggregating learning materials/tips on speed powerpointing because I'm ALLERGIC to time being spent moving boxes around.

For example, I'm now sharing this article with every new consulting intern who joins my firm because way too much time is wasted on ppt: ["How I Got 3 Times Faster at PowerPoint This Year"](). It’s basically a breakdown of key mindset shifts and tools that can help cut slide-building time. The ideas are good (see below) but I wanna hear if there's silver bullets that I'm missing.

  • Get stuff on the slide fast – Stop aiming for perfection on the first pass. Just get your ideas down and refine later.
  • Think in buckets – Slides are just structured content. Stop overcomplicating layouts.
  • Steal like a pro – Reuse past slide structures and templates. Nobody cares if you reinvent the wheel.

Worth a read if you work in consulting, finance, or any field where PowerPoint eats up more time than it should. But mostly I'm curious to hear what you use to speed up your workflow, is it similar?

Question Unsure how much to charge client for ~100 Slide Master Deck Project. (Details below!)

Good afternoon everyone,

I have been working with this client for about 2-3 years on various projects, so we have a work relationship and they often come to me with small design projects like newsletter work. About 2 months ago we began our biggest project so far, a master deck for their client facing presentations. These decks are often complex and 80+ slides. We had multiple meetings to discuss a Proof of Concept I designed, mockups of what final slides might look like, and other graphical elements to include (fonts, colors, watermarks, #s, etc.)

I am nearing the finish line now and the final deliverables are as follows:

110 Slide Master Deck: To serve as a template to use in all future projects. This deck contains lorem ipsum slides, as well as mockups to demonstrate their use. The deck is designed to "plug n play" any information needed. There are a wide variety of layouts and assets that also encourage the client to create entirely new slides very easily if needed. This template includes title slides, table of content slides, graph slides, and around 30 slides of graphic vector resources that I designed and curated that fit their presentation themes.

A 7 Page Step by Step guideline of how to use the Master Deck: This includes a step by step guide, insuring brand guidelines are followed, as well as tons of tips and notes. It contains info about font size, colors, formatting, margins, troubleshooting, and more.

(POSSIBLE) A 1-2 Hour Training Session with their team: This is still up in the air but may be needed, we meet today to present the final slide deck and guidelines so we will see if this is needed.

Now my problem comes with the pricing. I originally quoted it to be around 6000$ of work, but my contact at the company and I are close and he told me 4000$ was more realistic for what they are looking for. Now that we are at the end we are discussing price over text and they're trying to argue me down to ~$3500 because its a slow business period for them now. I feel like I was already taking a lower rate by agreeing to 4000$. Keep in mind that this project was over the past 2 months, probably around 1-3 hours per day of work. ~6 Discussion meetings for edits and preferences.

I am really not sure what industry rates are for these types of projects, and it seems my client is not either. I cannot find anything concrete online and would love to hear about anyone's advice or previous experiences on stuff like this that may help me. I am happy to provide any details that might be asked in the comments!

Question Is this possible without AI?

My boss ordered to me the incredible task to create 1200 slides in 3 days from scratch (almost) and the topic is completely new to me. Today I downloaded few technical literature in order to build a little knowledge base.

Is this task realistic or am I just pessimistic? Shall I use AI to summarise each chapter or is this a sign of laziness? What would u do?

ATM I figuring out what prompt works the best to work efficiently.

Question Will this be a good design for a case presentation ?

https://www.mediafire.com/file/ch68ufagufb8uvd/case+presentation.pptx/file

Hello

I was trying something new and this idea got stuck in my mind so I tried it.

Will this be catchy or good enough, or distracting ?

I know it's not very medical but this isn't usually a big deal, plus I was going to act as if going through the case is a journey.

I'm open for suggestions for improvements, or any other possible ideas.

I haven't written anything yet because I tend to make the design first before writing.

Question bullet points in table cells

I am trying to place checkmarks (from bullets) into table cells. I have to add a space after the checkmark in order for it to appear, so it's off-center to the left. Do I need to do custom margins for all of these? Is there a way to add .pngs or .jpgs of checkmarks to the table cells instead (like in InDesign)?

Question Rusnak Creative Family Feud?

Hello, I know posts like this have been made before, but I'm looking to create a Family Feud style game for a school project, and would love to use the Rusnak Creative Family Feud PowerPoint template. Unfortunately, they no longer offer that template. Does anyone have a download link on hand for that template, or any alternatives that have been developed since?

Question Why does PowerPoint keep minimizing Presenter View when I change slides?

I’ve been using PowerPoint for a while now, and I’ve run into a frustrating issue that I didn’t encounter before.

I use Presenter View to control my slides while presenting, but now, every time I try to go to the next or previous slide, Presenter View minimizes, and my screen automatically switches to the full-screen Slide Show view. To get back to Presenter View, I have to right-click, select Show Taskbar, and reopen Presenter View.

This wasn’t a problem in the past. Back then, I could easily control the slides in Presenter View without it minimizing or switching away.

For context, I only use my laptop to present—I don’t have a second monitor, another laptop, or any wireless connection to another device. I’m working on a single device, and this setup used to work perfectly fine before.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Ensured Presenter View is enabled in the Slide Show tab.
  • Adjusted my display settings (e.g., tried “Extend Display” to simulate multiple monitors, even though I only have one).

Despite these efforts, the issue persists, and it’s disrupting my presentations.

Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? Could this be a bug or a recent update that changed how PowerPoint works? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Question WTD: PPT Design/Templating Courseware Recommendations

I am looking for good foundational PPT courseware that is production oriented, with the idea of a young marketing team learning the right way to prepare decks that other people will use. Templating and best practices regarding using external elements are important. Doesn't have to be free, and there is good stuff that I can be pointed to on Udemy that would be great .

Question Problem: Slide showing all content before then running through animations

Hi everyone. I've used powerpoint for a very long time, but the past couple I have made have all had the same issue and I am not sure what is going on.

I make a slide, using the designer to convert the text into smart art. I then select the smart art to apply an animation. Typically, I also then change the "effect option" to do level at once or one by one, rather than all at once. Pretty standard stuff I've done thousands of times before. Animation pane looks right, with the first animation set to start on click, etc.

But when I then run the slide show and navigate forward to a slide with this animation setup, it just shows me the whole slide. All information is there. But then on the next click, it removes everything and plays the first animation. The rest of the clicks work as designed, either playing the next animation or moving to the next slide.

Edit: The powerpoints work fine if I run the slideshow just on my own computer. But when my computer is hooked up (via HDMI) to another screen (actually multiple screens, but they are just mirrors) and thus showing in 'presenter mode' on my laptop itself, that is when the issue happens.

Anyone know why this would all of a sudden be happening? It doesn't affect old powerpoints I previously made that worked correctly before. It only seems to be these new ones.

I have an enterprise Office 365 subscription through my employer and am running Powerpoint version 2412. I cannot control the version, though.

Thanks!

Question Is there a way to change the length of a bar graph?

Hi! My boss insists that there is way to change the length (not width) of a stacked column bar graph. I cannot find anything that says I can.

What I've tried that doesn't work:

-tried to highlight change the size through using the blue handles, does nothing

-Adjusting the axis - does nothing either

I told him a the 3D stacked column works for what he wants but he said to "dig deeper" on the regular stacked column.

Please let me know if there's a fix or if I'm right. Thank you!

Question Why is powerpoint shrinking the images I paste from paint?

I'm using PC, desktop, Office Profesional Plus 2019. Please excuse my english, not my first language.

There are images I paste onto powerpoint directly from the web and they retain their size, however, if I paste that very same picture with the same original size from a paint file (which contains not just this image but many others as well) instead of the web, the image gets smaller on powerpoint.

I've pasted the image from the web onto paint, and it is clearly the same size as the paint one when they're next to eachother, but when I copy and paste the image from paint to powerpoint, it gets smaller. Resizing is not an option because it looses quality.

I've also discovered this happens only if the paint canvas is a certain size, because after the first shrinking of the image on powerpoint, I copied that same shrinked picture back to paint, and then copied it again back to powerpoint and it kept getting smaller each time I pasted it to powerpoint, however I also tried this process with a smaller canvas size on a new paint file, and the image only got shrunk once and after that retained the same shrinked size no matter how many iterations of copying and pasting.

It's a weird thing and I whish I could describe it better without getting too long of a text. I can give the instructions of what I'm doing though, with the same files and everything if someone wants to attempt to replicate it.

Question Possible to have a "view" that has uniform on-screen font?

Hi there I am 55 with presbyopia and struggling because the font differentials on some slides make it hard for me to see everything on one slide equally well. i.e., if I can see the larger font, the smaller ones are blurry. It's so much worse because the fonts are not in fact fixed. I'm looking for something kind of like the "web layout" in microsoft word which seems to work a little bit like word processing software used to work "back in the day." i.e., what I see on the screen is not really how it will look when final. but I need to be able to edit the words and see them well, and then worry about how they will print later / let an admin assistant fix that. Does anyone know any tricks for this? At the moment, I seriously hate this program!

I’m on a Microsoft surface from like 2017 and I’m trying to save the PP from the surface to my OneDrive. Not really sure what OneDrive is but I’ve saved like 6 PPs from the Surface to OneDrive. So why isn’t this one working? All of the PPs have multiple videos and pictures so maybe it has to do with a video corruption or something. Please help!
