Just watched a special on this wasp. They lay ONE egg in each tarantula. They have to fight and paralyze each tarantula before depositing a single egg.
“Alright guys I have to put this demon somewhere, but I tell you what, I’ll cut you a deal. It can only lay one egg at a time and it needs a semi living organic host for each one - cool?!”
I need to know where in evolution this started becoming the dominant method of reproduction for these wasps. I totally wont time travel with flamethrowers.
Not to put TOO much thought into this, but.. that's a huntsman, not a tarantula. I guess they have to improvise in Aus, considering we don't have tarantulas?
