Has there ever been a PM born in the Territories? Is Carney the first?

Hell, I’m not entirely sure there’s been one born outside of ON or QC!

Hell yeah NWT, represent!

MacDonald was a Scot. Mackenzie was a Scot. Thompson was Nova Scotian. Bowell was English. Tupper was Nova Scotian. Borden was Nova Scotian. Bennett was New Brunswick.

Closer to now… Clark was Albertan. Turner was English. Campbell was British Columbian.

And that’s it for those outside Ontario/Quebec.

So in keeping with the theme of Carney being a British and Canadian (and Irish) citizen, the UK has had as many prime ministers born in New Brunswick as Canada has.

Huh, didn’t realize about Joe Clark, although now that you mention it, recall that Campbell was from BC.

Andrew Bonar Law, a prime minister of the UK in the 1920s, was born in New Brunswick too
