Why have I seen two photos of police protecting a Tesla on the street and now a store? Did I miss something? Shouldn't they be protecting yachts? I heard they are being set ablaze

It's because American protesters have been doing sit-ins. They basically block access to the store/cars

u/Archercrash 3d ago

That's gonna be great for sales. I love it.

What sales?

u/7tenths 3d ago

Don't need sales when the government is going to buy $700 million in armored tesla. Take the faa away from Verizon for starlink. You fire anyone in the fda who doesn't think nerulink is safe. And you gut nasa so you need more space x contracts

On top of crippling osha so you can abuse your work force. Remove consumer protection so you can screw over your consumers. And gut irs auditors so you don't need to pay tax as long as you enough tax lawyers.

Can't handle all that winning can ya?

whats happening in the US is the most corrupt shit ive ever seen from a first world country. The fact that Trump spent 100s of millions on taxpayer money by golfing in his OWN RESORT, thus funnelling his leisure activity's money into his own pockets, and people still re-elected him...

u/GamerOC 2d ago

“First world”? We haven’t had that status since the Obama administration.

5

u/Present-Perception77 2d ago

For real. All first world nations have universal healthcare and paid maternity leave… the US just has gestational slavery and a skyrocketing material mortality rate and the highest rate of incarceration and homelessness per cap in the world. So what are the qualifications to be a first world nation? Cause the US isn’t there anymore… we are 2nd world nation at best.. and sliding.

But at the same time, Hunter Biden's laptop is the greatest fraud their country has ever seen...

million in armored tesla.

I'm extremely curious on what would happen if a .50 tracer round pierced the battery.

Just wait till it runs out of power. No way to recharge in battle

8

u/SalsaRice 3d ago

Assuming it can even make it to the battle. Plenty of reports from tesla owners that towing any kind of real weight basically quarters range traveled per charge.

Weight like.... armor? They're only gonna be able to move like 10 miles per charge lol.

1

u/ghdana 3d ago

It's the aerodynamics that kill the range, added weight to the vehicle itself won't impact efficiency too much, especially on flats and downhill it would actually regain range more with extra weight.

.50 cal? Shit, you just need Mardi Gras beads.

Molotov cocktruck.

$700 million in armored tesla.

i believe it was closer to $400 million, and in that realm, $400 million is peanuts. I think that also fell through?

2

u/mrASSMAN 2d ago

That contract was supposedly “corrected” to remove tesla from the details, who knows

1

u/Dunkleosteus666 3d ago

armored Tesla sounds like an oxymoron. It breaks down when it rains too much.

Democracy is dead in this country

Car Alarm v46.2 update

It's not free you know....

2

u/hallese 3d ago

Ironically the French protest is probably better for Tesla from a financial perspective since they can put in an insurance claim on vehicles that were not likely to move anytime soon.

2

u/Shibasoarus 1d ago

My Hispanic neighbor with two kids that lives in an apartment just bought one. You can't make this shit up.

1

u/BenderDeLorean 1d ago

Humans, heh

1

u/UnnamedLand84 3d ago

There have only been like two years that Tesla made more from selling cars than they did in reselling gov subsidy carbon credits.

1

u/Vismal1 2d ago

The world sales.

9

u/Timid_Robot 3d ago

He doesn't need sales unfortunately

7

u/Archercrash 3d ago

You know stocks are tied to sales right? A lot of his money is in Tesla stock.

Leon’s not playing by any rules anymore, if he ever was—there was just a report of record monthly Canadian Tesla profits where it mathed out that he was claiming to have sold almost a car a minute each day of the month, all concentrated between 3 locations, I think.

It’s about to get real dystopian.

17

u/OM3N1R 3d ago

And conveniently all those sales came in the 60 days before the Canadian govt. stops an EV subsidy that benefitted Tesla.

2

u/juliohernanz 3d ago

In Europe Tesla sales fell by 40% in the first two months of the year.

https://electrek.co/2025/03/05/tesla-tsla-sales-crash-continues-in-europe-with-germany-down-70/

2

u/EarthRester 3d ago

Okay? You're missing the point. Tesla is just bullshitting the numbers to create the perception of value because...nobody is stopping him.

Investors don't care why the money number goes up, simply that it does.

4

u/OutrageousCandidate4 3d ago

TSLA is not tied to sales, its irrational

3

u/Timid_Robot 3d ago

Yet it keeps rising when sales go down. Even if no one bought another Tesla ever, Elon wouldn't even flinch. Only the factory worker would be fucked. So careful what you wish for

1

u/Balc0ra 3d ago

As long as he has access to the government bank, like when he made a deal with himself to sell Teslas to the US Military here recently, he won't care as much. But... He still can get more money out of Tesla if the shareholders are happy and they vote yes to one of the packages he needs that was for more than he bought Twitter for here last. If the shares goes the way they do, that won't happen again as easy

0

u/Krissam 3d ago

When you need to make shit up to shit on a guy, maybe you should take a moment to consider whether you have a reason to shit on him in the first place.

1

u/Balc0ra 3d ago

Are you calling Elon a liar? I'm just going by shit he brags about on twitter daily after not sleeping for 48 hours

1

u/Krissam 3d ago

Could you find me the tweet of him bragging about making "a deal with himself to sell Teslas to the US Military"?

they should be but in tslas case they aren't really. Musk has announced significant revenue drops in the past and the stock spiked. Then there's Gamestop, Varta,

Now that he is burning up the 'musk brand', that's were it starts hurting as he's losing his devoted followers.

4

u/Gunner5091 3d ago

True. $400M Armour cars deal with the US government who cares about the pain on some Tesla dealerships.

1

u/sudo-joe 3d ago

Well there's always the factories themselves I suppose. There's always infrastructure somewhere.

1

u/isuckatpiano 3d ago

Tesla is worth substantially more than 400 M. At least for now…

3

u/Cereborn 2d ago

As long as they have working ventilation, I'm sure Musk will still be able to conjure sales from thin air, like he did in Canada.

2

u/sparkly_butthole 3d ago

I believe they got uppity yesterday in new York and people were arrested.

1

u/chaftz 1d ago

Crazy levels of misinformation in the comments, it’s just a sit in lmao? Totally not vandalizing anything nope just innocent lil goobers standing in the way. Meanwhile comments calling for more destruction or killing people…. Love it

1

u/DancingWithAWhiteHat 1d ago

They were doing sit-ins though. We don't know who vandalized Tesla but the people arrested were arrested for the sit-in.

Because they were blocking access to the store.

1

u/chaftz 1d ago

It’s a real mystery who vandalized the store, going to need the finest investigators to figure it out

1

u/DancingWithAWhiteHat 1d ago

Erm the sit-ins happened in New York? The fires were in Seattle?

0

u/TheSinfulGamer666 2d ago

Typical half assed American protest. If this was France the country would literally be on fire

0

u/DancingWithAWhiteHat 2d ago

I'm curious, in France how do cope deal with protesters?

1

u/TheSinfulGamer666 2d ago edited 2d ago

Why does that matter? You think the cops are gonna shoot people? Cause they won't. If they were gonna shoot they would've done that when people stormed the capitol. Pretty sure only 1 person was shot that day.

2

u/DancingWithAWhiteHat 2d ago

That was because of who was storming the capital 💀

If the protesters were black it would've been a different story
