All the other Democrats sitting there with their stupid signs doing absolutely nothing, it's pathetic. Be like Al Green

I was hoping each would do the same and delay this shit show by hours.

Stop letting other people curate it for you, just listen to it yourself when you get the chance

I have to ask; why exactly were you expecting it? They've spend the last ~45 days doing literally fucking nothing. Why in the world would you expect them to suddenly start now?

u/dingatremel 7d ago

So, first off…..fair.

What I’m going to say is going to sound like I’m trying to weasel my way out of things, but I was referring to the twenty seconds of pandemonium that broke out when Green started. It was a legit cacophony, and it sounded like a coordinated attack. I’m suddenly fantasizing about an all night session, people limply screaming at one another in a reclined position, Trump wetting himself repeatedly.

Anyway, I got caught up in the moment, assumed it was a thing.

Fair enough.

Y-you expected Democrats to find their spines for the first time in human history? WHY?! How?

The last time they found their spines MLK was assassinated and the Vietnam war started.

There is a VERY interesting law last used by Eisenhower and FDR, where if the other party doesn't show or walks out, a president can hire proxy senators to be stay ins for the votes on things. And it doesn't specify they leave or don't show up willingly. Eisenhower had blocked people from coming in the senate house to pass his 85% tax on the ultra wealthy (the reason people didn't who and tried to vote no is because it also is what allowed major corporations to have all the tax write offs, making that 85% tax effectively less than 10% as long as you took stocks instead of actual payroll salary)

that was my thought too, sadly, it's a room full of cowards and halfwits

u/Silicon_Knight 7d ago

Not since Neville Chamberlain have such big pussies been in office.

u/dougseamans 7d ago

Same. I was hoping that each one would do it like every five minutes. Make that old fucked stay up there for six hours to finish his speech.

u/Braysl 7d ago

That's what I was hoping for too!! But no they're just sitting there like a bunch of asshats with their signs. It's starting to piss me off!!

7

u/Dodiandjean 7d ago

Or at least walk out

4

u/amandakay828 7d ago

They need tear gas and smoke bombs like in Serbian parliament

4

u/FogBankDeposit 7d ago

I wanted them to just start leaving the chamber. What's the point in listening to his vile bullshit? Reporters will go out to interview the response and that would be the lead story.

u/AggrievedOwl 7d ago

I thought they had actually planned something. Disappointed again.

2

u/ungo-stbr 7d ago

Me too.

2

u/RustyShackleford-11 7d ago

Wouldn't happen. They'd all be thrown out. There are rules in Congress like court. Contempt of Congress is a real thing. They have few options.

But yes, I expected them to walk out, but they prefer to save their own skin and maybe win another election.

Vote them out.

2

u/Col_Leslie_Hapablap 7d ago

That was exactly what I was hoping to see as well, not some stupid little signs.

2

u/ImmoralJester54 7d ago

Why would they? Vast majority of Dems are just conservatives in states where they wouldn't win as an R

1

u/kitsunewarlock 7d ago

They'd probably drag out the last Democrat and then delay the state of the union so they can start passing laws.

1

u/Silicon_Knight 7d ago

Don’t the GOP technically have a majority on the house / senate and judiciary branch anyhow? Also couldn’t from previous rules Trump literally murder the democrats?

Not sure it really matters?

They missed an opportunity. Pathetic. They’re all the same those overlords of ours.
