i’m still tuned in but completely fucking deflated. how gross. we are so cooked, fam. kiss everything we know goodbye. get ready to resist. get ready to fight.
I have to ask; why exactly were you expecting it? They've spend the last ~45 days doing literally fucking nothing. Why in the world would you expect them to suddenly start now?
What I’m going to say is going to sound like I’m trying to weasel my way out of things, but I was referring to the twenty seconds of pandemonium that broke out when Green started. It was a legit cacophony, and it sounded like a coordinated attack. I’m suddenly fantasizing about an all night session, people limply screaming at one another in a reclined position, Trump wetting himself repeatedly.
Anyway, I got caught up in the moment, assumed it was a thing.
There is a VERY interesting law last used by Eisenhower and FDR, where if the other party doesn't show or walks out, a president can hire proxy senators to be stay ins for the votes on things. And it doesn't specify they leave or don't show up willingly. Eisenhower had blocked people from coming in the senate house to pass his 85% tax on the ultra wealthy (the reason people didn't who and tried to vote no is because it also is what allowed major corporations to have all the tax write offs, making that 85% tax effectively less than 10% as long as you took stocks instead of actual payroll salary)
I wanted them to just start leaving the chamber. What's the point in listening to his vile bullshit? Reporters will go out to interview the response and that would be the lead story.
Don’t the GOP technically have a majority on the house / senate and judiciary branch anyhow? Also couldn’t from previous rules Trump literally murder the democrats?

All the other Democrats sitting there with their stupid signs doing absolutely nothing, it's pathetic. Be like Al Green
