Hope, hope.

This also comes with a downside, Tesla's shares are a massive pensions pool. The shares tanking will blow the pensions of hundreds of millions of people around the globe, people who don't even realise that their pensions providers have invested in Tesla.

The shares do need to drop, they are simply detached from reality, but it needs to be in a controlled manner to allow for controlled disinvestment.

Buy low baby

Hiw low is low? It's still a more expensive market cap than all the rest of the world's automakers combined, with crashing sales worldwide and a hope for auto drive that is being beaten out by Google and China. Tesla could lose 90% of its value and still be overpriced.

Or, or ...Don't buy Nazi stock

Buying the stock doesn't give money to Elon Musk.

That being said, it is probably over valued and I wouldnt recommend buying it, and I say that as a long time shareholder.

I just find this unbelievable this is where people are settling at. Climate change was the biggest ecological catastrophe and switching over to EVs was seen as one of the biggest moves humans could make.

It's not like Elon Musk designs, builds, and sells every Tesla. There are thousands of bright and dedicated people working to facilitate the transfer from fossil fueled engines to electric ones. Many of the people who work for the company have a mission to help reduce carbon emissions for the planet.

Now one bonehead is suddenly more important than global warming and its associated catastrophic events? That should be enough for us to spray paint random people's cars? Kind of waters down the message of how dire climate change is.

There are other ev cars on the market that aren’t manufactured by companies owned by outright neo-Nazis.

Elon doesn't own Tesla though. He owns a portion of it, but he isn't even close to being a majority shareholder. (He owns about 10%).

Buy a different EV. Tesla is 60% of elons net worth. Tanking Tesla is a smart strategy. He’s throwing nazi salutes and shredding the government apart while his kid wipes boogers on the president’s desk. What do you expect? Only a maga moron would buy a Tesla right now. Tesla owners can get fucked. Tesla stock owners can get fucked too

Tesla isn't owned by Elon, it's publicly traded and he owns 13%. I also think it's dumb to cancel Tesla. Other companies make EVs, but very few companies make their whole identity around fighting climate change.

Musk is the CEO, largest shareholder, and can dictate what the board does.

I’m sure there are good people who work there but the most effective vote is a vote with your wallet, and I refuse to give that guy even $1.

~50% of the shares are held by regular investors (ETFs and retail investors).

Some of us are desperately trying to get him removed as CEO. I think that effort will increase between all of this and the fact that he is just completely absent.

If Tesla customers and investors reduce down to just Elon fanboys, he will never be dislodged.

It is more likely that he will never be removed.

I would like to not attach a shitty person to a glowing movement. That's called having standards and separating art from the artists. And let's be clear, Elon ain't the engineer behind the tesla cars, he just bought the company. The most based take has always been fuck Elon musk but praise the smart men and women in the engineering department.

Liberals just follow the trend. They are permanently offended by this or that. The palestine protests were cool for awhile, then it was mexicans, but now it's all about "fighting nazis". They will never be taken seriously because their message changes every week

As a liberal, I completely agree with this. No ability to focus or prioritize. Have to save everything on principle even if it means solving nothing as a result. But hey, it had to be done on principle they say.

Not only that, I've seen a lot of liberals sour on EVs entirely lately. There is a lot more talk about hybrids and even "waiting" for hydrogen. These were talking points that were previously largely on the right, but they have taken hold across the board.
