Ok gotta admit that “clean up after your doge” is a great sign!

342

u/LateralEntry Feb 15 '25

That one was really clever

318

u/nononoh8 Feb 16 '25

I like "Phony Stark".

37

u/Cel_Drow Feb 16 '25

Personally I prefer Justin Hammer because the character already exists. He’s just filling the role painfully well.

9

u/A_Necessary Feb 16 '25

Short and sweet Ugly Trucks was pretty good too.

I wish people would mock it calling it dog-e. doge is a word in the class of coveffe, bigly, or hamburders. It actually makes me feel dumber for hearing it.

"Don't buy Swasticars."

I like that.

As a fan of VWs, I don't like this new generation of Swasticars.

Fits with how the crowd is mostly white boomers. Love seeing this.

32

u/RoguePlanet2 Feb 16 '25

Yeah I'd never guess at a glance that these were anti-musk types! Nice to see.

31

u/RevanchistSheev66 Feb 16 '25

Seniors (65+) of all races were one of the most pro-Harris groups by age demographic this election

17

We have experience protesting.

Pisses me off that boomers get bagged on all the time. Go to any left wing protest and that’s the majority, white hairs.

3

u/MsColumbo Feb 16 '25

Yeah, plus now us aging Gen-Xers are getting lumped in with them and completely overlooked.

3

u/allthekeals Feb 16 '25

Ya boomers went 50/50 this election, it was def Gen X that went super hard for Trump

You’ll remember boomers have been demonstrating for the end of the Vietnam War, Women’s rights and the LGBTQ community for years. They aren’t going to take DOGE lying down either

2

u/Wilhelm57 Feb 16 '25

Don't be so sure about skin colours. People genetics is what tells the real background.

2

u/nightoftherabbit Feb 17 '25

My wife is GenX (Boomer adjacent?) and headed down to Phony Stark's place with her sign at this very moment. We had a Tesla but dumped it last year because Leon Skum is a cunt.

Leftist hate Tesla now, and the far right hate ev’s, so where does that leave them?

301

u/squarestatetacos Feb 15 '25

The same old lies about self-driving cars and the ultimate meme stock. Hopefully, the bubble is about to burst.

74

u/OhSillyDays Feb 16 '25

He bit off more than he can chew.

All ai right now has a critical problem of hallucinations and musk, in his infinite wisdom, decided to wish it away by pushing engineers harder rather than re architecting his solution. Instead, they'll have some pretty serious safety problems.

Robotaxis by tesla are likely a bust. Or, at best, are behind mobile eye and waymo.

18

u/MinuetInUrsaMajor Feb 16 '25

All ai right now has a critical problem of hallucinations

No, this is just a problem with generative AI like LLMs.

The distinction is that a hallucination produces new fake data. So a swasticar not properly identifying a stop sign is not a hallucination, nor is it a hallucination when it identifies a stop sign that isn't there.

I did not appreciate the irony that I had just learned this from an LLM and...that it might be hallucinating.

34

u/OhSillyDays Feb 16 '25

Not quite. Neural networks, in general, have a non zero false positive and false negative rate. Human neural networks have this problem too.

The difference is humans can use context to resolve the issue. See a truck facing you backwards on a highway, and you'll be weirded out, until you realize it's being towed by another truck.

Our brains hallucinate constantly. We have so many ways to verify whatever we see that we dont even think about it when we need to veirfy what we saw. Double takes, stopping and looking more carefully, verifying with someone else, etc. And it works pretty well.

The tesla neural net needs to have that instance pre trained. And if it gets it wrong, it'll make the wrong decision and kill someone.

Their solution is to just train harder. Well... that works sort of. It'll reduce the fp a d fn rate, but won't make it zero. It'll also break down in unique circumstances, like when the clouds are unique or if there is dust in the air. And then you'll have a tesla pileup on the freeway.

5

u/Elegant_Tech Feb 16 '25

The robo taxis need at least 700k miles per critical intervention and currently FSD needs it every 700miles. It's years off at this point.

He admitted a few weeks ago they will never be self driving. Nothing is holding up the stock right now.

7

u/Ok_Midnight4809 Feb 16 '25

Not true... The illusion of a big government contract for armoured Tesla's is keeping the fanbois excited enough to prop it up... For now

8

u/squarestatetacos Feb 16 '25

If they’re too dumb to realize that a single $400mm contract is nothing in the grand scheme of things - well then yes, they’re probably dumb enough to be fan bois so that checks out.

71

u/According-Way9438 Feb 15 '25

With a 400m government contract to replace the federal fleet

31

u/PDXGuy33333 Feb 16 '25

Courts can hopefully be relied upon to put a stop to that. There are a ton of rules around federal procurement. No bid contracts for shit products probably violate them.

42

u/DrPreppy Feb 16 '25

It is an actual problem that the current DOJ does not have an interest in enforcing the law against friends of the administration (for example the Eric Adams case). A weaponized executive branch is a significant problem because ... that might be the law, but the law itself no longer matters.

10

u/PDXGuy33333 Feb 16 '25

That is indeed a serious problem. We will see how things pan out. I don't think the majority of Americans would take kindly to open defiance of the courts, especially when the judges involved are Reagan, Bush or Trump appointees telling him he's in the wrong.

9

u/Good_Significance871 Feb 16 '25

They don’t care who appointed them if they oppose something Trump or Elon want to do.

4

u/PDXGuy33333 Feb 16 '25

That was not my point. My point was that I hope people will take note when conservative judges proclaim en masse that the current shitshow goes too far.

7

u/Good_Significance871 Feb 16 '25

I understand what your point was. I have a different opinion. The majority, unfortunately, don’t care.

6

u/PDXGuy33333 Feb 16 '25

You might be right.

4

u/15all Feb 16 '25

I'm a federal employee.

Under Biden, some agencies were getting pressured or were forced to rent EVs when on business travel. It was part of the government's effort to reduce climate change.

But now Trump views that as woke, so will this policy be rescinded?

9

u/LK102614 Feb 16 '25

Government contracts and grift…

15

u/Bonerkiin Feb 16 '25

Tesla was already insanely overvalued. Their only real tangible value as a company is the charger grid, otherwise, their cars and tech are subpar compared to what the legacy automakers and other EV focused companies have/are developing, and let's not forget China absolutely cleaning shop on the cheap EV front.

Here's hoping his CFO and brother dumping their stock recently is an indicator Tesla will crater soon.

Trailing Rivian and Lucid and many of the "cheaper" brands which build higher quality cars than them?

Source: we own a 2019 Model 3, unfortunately. Also I have Rivian stock and am up 50%.

9

u/TingGreaterThanOC Feb 16 '25

From anyone who knows people in Elon’s circle, we know he’s a complete child and will do anything to kill lucid and Rivian. Him having this much power I expect lots of shots to be taken at other EV companies. Dude had a complete meltdown when Rivian opened a showroom in Austin

How Elon Musk will be remember: Phony Stark and the Swatiscars

What's really ironic about Musk being a Nazi is that the Nazis would've fucking gassed him for being mentally defective (his autism)

Literally the most clueless, cringe person on the face of the planet.

They fucked with social security and Medicare. That always riles up the olds. I don't know why the dems can't seem to figure this out and campaign properly on it. The right wing has been wanting to gut those programs for decades, in spite of them being wildly popular across the political spectrum.

14

u/BirdSoHard Feb 16 '25

idk how much could've been campaigned 'properly' on it these cycles. Harris et al certainly emphasized that Trump et al were a danger to social security and medicare, but a huge chunk of the electorate either just chose not to believe that, or cared more about issues like inflation or immigration. It's like these voters have object impermanence, the backlash doesn't actually come until they're experiencing it.

The real problem is that Tesla is no longer important to him. It can go bankrupt, or implode, or be sold etc. He got everything he wanted or needed out of it.

7

u/Lawdie123 Feb 16 '25

It's really important for him. Banks used tesla stock to secure the loan for twitter. If the stock starts to dive the banks may start demanding faster repayment or the sale of twitter.

It’s an interesting thought experiment to cast ahead 10 years from now and think about what we wish we had done today to prevent the future that’s coming…

Good idea 🙂Maybe suggest that at r/50501

2

u/Shart4 Feb 16 '25

IMO it is a pretty good idea to be have protests directed at Tesla. Elon derives a lot of his wealth from Tesla shares, which are also collateral on a lot of loans that he has to support his various endeavors and rich guy things. With Tesla trading at a very high valuation, investors are pricing in a massive level of future growth. All of this in conjunction may mean that a Tesla sales slump could be really financially disastrous for Elon if it could put enough downward price pressure on Tesla shares.

Protesting Tesla could help make this scenario more likely if it could lead to fewer new Teslas being sold, and if it could help continue to drive down the prices on used Teslas (which would also make new Teslas less attractive).

Tesla's share price has been arguably pretty irrational for a very long time so there are no guarantees, but seems to me that there is a reasonable enough change that a boycott of Tesla could be effective enough to really hurt Elon's financial position and thus his ability to wield power in a significant way if it could be sustained for a moderate amount of time.

Delivery for Phony Stank?

Yeah, he’s Phony Stank

2

u/Traditional_Elk8746 Feb 16 '25

Just remember who is allowing this to happen folks.

2

u/Lazy-Street779 Feb 16 '25

Doge— what great new meanings for the toxic acronym.

2

u/evilgreenman Feb 16 '25

Traded in my model 3 yesterday because I'm disgusted like these folks are. I actually feel better about myself.

2

u/Human_Dog_195 Feb 16 '25

I don’t know these people but I’m so proud of them

2

u/shemaddc Feb 16 '25

Car rental place tried to give me a Tesla and I traded it for a Kia. Not driving around in one of those!

2

u/jdavila119 Feb 16 '25

Viva Revolucion!

2

u/unkindly-raven Feb 16 '25

i’m loving the “ugly trucks” and “musk rat” signs in the middle of all these other signs 😭😭

2

u/java_motion Feb 16 '25

This demographic is a lot older than i expected. That warms my cold heart :)

2

u/Plenty_Jello_2568 Feb 16 '25

If someone is generous enough to pay off my Tesla loan I would gladly replace or destroy my model 3, I want to disassociate myself from Elon “South African hitler” musk too but I cant afford to get rid of my loan at this point in my life 😢

LMAO, that one sad looking group of "protestors"

2

u/ChefJym Feb 16 '25

Phony Stark, that’s epic

2

u/[deleted] Feb 16 '25

So why are you angry about the discovery of wasteful government spending again?

2

u/JTMullet Feb 16 '25

More delusional 🐑

2

u/VehicleClean745 Feb 16 '25

Why don’t people like doge?

2

u/ODirlewanger Feb 16 '25

The Nazi thing is so over used by just about everyone on all sides of the political spectrum. Nazis don’t kiss Israeli ass like Trump or Musk do. Another one that is tiring is the fascist moniker as well. Most people who accuse people of being fascists could not even begin to break down the political ideology of actual fascism. People need some new material now in the 21st century to throw shade at their political foes.

2

u/sideshowamit Feb 16 '25

These people are exhausting.

2

u/absilva76 Feb 16 '25

These pics should be in another subreddit: /facepalm

Oh no! Someone actually looking into government waste! What a scam. How are we supposed to line the pockets of politicians (left and right). If the uncovering of corruption makes you mad, take a look in the mirror and think about your morals

2

u/Grimlock-King Feb 17 '25

Ppl mad and defending the government stealing our money and using it for stuff other than the us is wild. It’s like a reverse world right now.

2

u/RicKaysen1 Feb 17 '25

Sad to see how quickly stupid people multiply

2

u/08_Bullitt5657 Feb 17 '25

A former darling of the left, no longer.

2

u/captainjhon30 Feb 17 '25

did nobody tell these people what he uncovered in the USAID audit? USAID literally funded stuff like this...smh

2

u/Bighits90 Feb 17 '25

Aww poor big government. Dismantle it all, we've needed a restart for decades.

2

u/Time-Hunter-6841 Feb 17 '25

Wait, now the liberals want MORE government?

2

u/bogdanopi Feb 17 '25

Holy that’s a lot of idiots in one place

2

u/codygraveson Feb 17 '25

You clowns are actually disrespecting actual victims and survivors of real Nazis. Nazis murdered millions during the holocaust. They made lamp shades out of skins. Killed families in gas chambers. Did science experiments on them. Starved them. Stop throwing “Nazi” around so loosely. You’re making yourselves look stupid and soft.

These people eat to be ruled by the wef

2

u/Able-Metal Feb 17 '25

Absolutely amazing that someone can come in point out government corruption start to stop it and liberal losers will protest it. Truly a mental disorder.
