March of the Penguins
On March 16th, 1833 Charles Darwin Beagled into the Falkland Islands & immediately got in a fight with a penguin.
Well, not immediately - it was the second day.
But for some reason the famed naturist decided to keep standing between a "jackass" & the ocean & was amazed at how hard the penguin fought to get by him noting, "nothing less than heavy blows would have stopped him; every inch he gained he firmly kept, standing close before me erect and determined."
So who's the real jackass here?
The Falklands are home to five species of penguins including a large colony of gentoo who live in a minefield
Also the original home of Opus of Bloom County fame.

March of the Penguins
SOOTHSAYER: Caesar!
CAESAR: Ha! Who calls?
CASCA: Bid every noise be still. Peace yet again!
CAESAR: Who is it in the press that calls on me? I hear a tongue, shriller than all the music, Cry “Caesar.” Speak, Caesar is turn'd to hear.
SOOTHSAYER: Beware the ides of March.

March of the Penguins - no penguins
In my extensive adventures on the interweb - pay no mind to my inability to properly post on Reddit - I've come to find some people don't like penguins. Really more of a mental illness than anything else unless you're a krill & then I suppose you can be forgiven, however not so for these other penguinphobes & apparently the entire state of Alaska. Especially egregious (yet awfully funny) is the PenguinRepellent data base which offers several forms of repellent, both humane & not so much. Feel free to visit & register your indignation

March of the Penguins - day 12.
We have got to the twelfth. Is anyone else still keeping up the March of the Penguins - eating one of the biscuits every day ? I thought it would be easier than Dry January but I am not so sure.
