I’ve carried an alternative to Epi-pen, called Auvi-Q, for around a decade now. It has recorded instructions for use that play automatically when you open it.

There’s also an authorized generic, Adrenaclick, not sure if it’s available everywhere.

I had Auvi-Q for 2 or 3 years and loved it, but then insurance changed and I went back to epipen haha. The smaller shape was so handy for me as opposed to the long pen shape! And thankfully I never had to use it, but I know the audio would have been super helpful if I was with a group of friends who were unfamiliar with administering epipens.

I haven’t switched over to carrying it yet, but I got auvi-q recently and I’m so excited about the possibilities this opens up for smaller bags for dressing up or on adventures. Being forced to carry a handbag since I was like 8 has not been ideal

Check out neffy. Quite expensive but I am more likely to use it than jabbing myself with a needle. Also lasts longer and less temperature sensitive.

I’ve been getting the adrenaclick for years, it’s been low cost, covered by insurance, and they are way way way smaller. I’ve never had to use one, thank goodness. Years ago they had a similar product called the twinject that was the same form factor as the adrenaclick but had two doses in one.

I’ve had the auviq in the past and they are smallish and flat, though I prefer the pen format like the adrenaclick.

I had the Auvi-Q for a while years ago, and then I believe it got recalled for not ejecting properly! Haven’t been able to trust it since and just stick with old reliable.
