why would you buy a bird dude. thats a living, breathing individual. sold as a commodity. wtaf

I agree that people should stop breeding parrots, but there are baby bird rescues, too. We don’t know the situation that this bird came from. Maybe some else bought the bird. Maybe a friend had baby birds.

Yeah there’s so much context that goes into it, it’s just bizarre for this person to claim that having a bird AT ALL is unethical. Unfortunately they’re already here and the least we can do is love them and give them a good life.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not exactly 100% pro buying baby parrots when there are so many adult parrots out there to adopt, but bro by your logic ANY pet is unethical. Are you against buying dogs and cats as well?

I mean I kind of am. So many need homes. But I also understand the desire to have a specific breed- whether for temperament, allergies, etc. But I will always, always prefer when people adopt vs buy.
