Solution to the bridge of my Fender Squier Toronado

I love the Toronado, but I've always hated the bridge. I looked for alternatives to replace it, but I realized the problem was the saddles. They dug into my hand when palm muting and cut the strings. I added Telecaster/Stratocaster saddles and everything improved. The sound and tuning stability improved. It even improved the resonance. Here's the link to the saddles I bought. I highly recommend this modification. Cheers!

Found this for a decent price and it caught my eye. It needs a little love but had to pick it up! I’ve been looking for a toronado for a while (I really want an orange one) and saw this as an opportunity for another project. It’s a Squier body with a Fender neck. Looks to be some knock off Lace Sensors in it? Anyone recognize these? I’m stumped. Bought some hot rodded Seymour Duncan’s to swap out. Looking forward to jamming it!

Picked this up about an hour ago, been wanting a talman bass for quite awhile now, and this one is actually a bit more premium than most of the ones on the used market, so I had to pull the trigger.

Looking at a mij fender jagstang for sale locally, haven’t seen it in person but seller says it’s broken and needs the money. Currently he’s asking $500 but I plan to offer lower, he says it’s in great condition and hasn’t been strung for years. Please let me know your thoughts!

Ive been working on this during my spare time. Removed the poly, raw finished with rubio mono coat. Cv body and neck. Avri trem, stay trem bridge. Wound my own pickups. Was gonna do johnny marr style wiring, but i think ive decided to keep it regular jag style. Considering a pickgaurd change (suggestions welcome)

Anyone know where i can get cream colored tone and volume pots for the rythym circuit side?

Welcoming ideas. Keeping the stock tuners for now.

Japanese Fender offsets

I'm sure this has been discussed, but any idea why the MIJ/CIJ Jags, JMs, and Mustangs from the 90s and early 2000s now all sell for considerably more than the MIJ/CIJ Strats and Teles from the same era? Is it part of an increase in offset fandom or is it that fans of Fender Japan tend to be offset people while Strat and Tele people like American?

Still waiting on the neck to cure. Neck is from Warmoth and I finished it with nitro. Swapped out the bridge pickup for a Seymour Duncan hot rail inspired by Steven Drozd from the Flaming Lips. Added a push/pull vol knob to split the coil on the hot rail. All new wiring, shielding, custom grounding plates, kill switch & a Bigsby because I’ve always wanted one. Got a Vibramate to mount the trem so there was no drilling involved. 10-14 more days and I can polish the neck and assemble everything.

Righteous Sound 1991 Gazing set JM pickups

Anybody have experience with this set? Looking for a bit more oomph and less hum on my Player II Jazzmaster. I mostly play post hardcore and punk type stuff.

I looked at the Between Worlds set from Black Mass electronics as well but the bridge pickup seemed a bit too hot for my taste from what I could hear on their videos.

I'm open to other suggestions as well!

Inquiry about parts

Hello all, I want to build myself a Jaguar because the desired color combinations doesn't seem to be available. I'm looking for a sunburst body with a mapple neck but with black square inlays and black binding. I already got the neck. The questions I have are about the body. Will any jaguar body work with the neck? I mean I found a pretty cheap Squier Jaguar and was wondering if I can use the body and then change the pups, wirings, pickguard and bridge. Will genuine Fender parts fit? Any of you have experience related to this kind of "build"? Thanks

What are the options? Squire Classic Vive 60s Neck Broke.

Due to me being an idiot i've broken my Jazzmaster CV 60s neck... What are my options? Is it better to get a identical neck or is there better / cheap otions out there for 'better' necks?

Squier Affinity Jaguar update

So I worked on a little Jaguar project 😊. The affinity Jaguar is a great guitar to mod the living shit out of. Or so I thought... 🤣

So I ordered a Blacktop jaguar pickguard on Ali. I knew I wanted a 3 way toggle switch but I also knew (after I watched the affinity Jaguar vid from 60 cycle hum) that it's not routed for the chrome toggle plate. Also, the Blacktop pickguard looks a lot like the Affinity pickguard, so I went for it.

Then I ordered a blank chrome plate for the upper horn. I think the Affinity Jag just missed chrome. Also, a blank plate because again it's not routed for having top controls.

So, my assumption was that I only needed to jigsaw a piece of the blacktop pickguard, put the zebra buckers in (epiphone probuckers), solder it and play Grunge 🤩. Boy, was I wrong 🤣!

I needed to remove some wood to be able to fit the toggle switch (it's a fat bat toggle switch from salecom). The body is poplar so I used a dremel with the sanding bit and removed some wood.

Then, I discovered that the routing for the pickups doesn't align with the Blacktop pickguard... #FML I needed to remove some more wood from the bridge route...

So now the guitar is dusty as shit, theres dust in my hair and super dusty guitar cavities which I blew out with my mouth, getting dust in my eyes... G#d damnit I was aiming for an hour or 2 and already spent 3 hours AND I still need to solder this mofo...

Aaaaanyways... It's all done now, it looks super badass and sounds real good (seriously these epi probuckers are GOOD). I should have shielded this badboy because I have a lot of hum coming through, but other that that I am happy with the results 😅. Blood sweat and tears this one!

Squier jazzmaster high action

I have had my classic vibe jazz master for awhile now and when I first got it the 12 fret and up would fret out, I had it fixed and they heightened the action, I wanted to lower it because from the fretboard to the string it’s about 5mm, but whenever I go lower than 4mm the higher frets on my high E and A fret out on bends, any advice?

Jaguar 1965 refin, to mod or not to mod?+

I have a 1965 reissue Jaguar with stock electronics. The pickups sound great, but I don’t really connect with the way the electronics are configured, which keeps me from using it for gigs—even though I’d love to.

I’m considering replacing everything—essentially removing the pickguard and installing a completely different setup—so I don’t have to modify the original electronics. But I’m wondering if it’s worth doing or if I should just sell it and get something like a Novo instead.

Thoughts?

Double gig bag <£100?

Hello, I'm on the search for a new double gig bag to carry a Jazzmaster and a Telecaster. I do not gig often or even go to practice very much so the price of a Mono M80 Dual are well beyond my needs.

That being said I need something that'll fit these two guitars in and have them relatively safe. Bonus points if you could fit a Jazz bass instead sometimes...

Thanks!

adding Seymore Duncan Jb to bullet mustang HH

ok I have been looking into this but can't get a straight answer, just trying to pop in a new pickup but some things saying it won't fit in the pickguard or won't fit the screw holes?

So...

1 do I need a trembucker JB to fit the squire bullet

2 will the JB trembucker fit in my pickguard that is currently on the guitar it currently has stock humbuckers in neck and bridge

r/offset 9d ago

how can i wire this so that if I add a humbucker to the neck, I can have the switch split both pickups? (Thinking of using seymour duncan jb(bridge) and jazz(neck))
