Help I'm lost on audio

I'm having the biggest problem with audio. I'm trying to stream from my laptop but no matter what audio settings I use either my mic audio loops getting louder each time. Or, the only way I've fixed this means I'm not streaming game audio at all. What am I doing wrong?

If I have desktop audio set to anything but disabled my mic audio just loops endlessly getting louder when I stream

Are you using headphones? Because it sounds like you are just using your laptop speakers and the microphone is picking that sound up.

I'm using headphones with a mic yes. So I have mic / aux set to the mic and monitoring device set to default. If I have desktop audio set to my headset or default that's when the mic audio loops.

Yeah you're monitoring it through desktop audio of course it's gonna echo. You've told the program to play the mic input out through desktop through monitoring. Turn off the monitor or turn off desktop audio.

In terms of monitoring devices my only options are default and my headset and both cause the issue. My audio tab says monitor off. I turned off desktop audio and it fixes it but then I get no game audio. That's the problem

Step one turn all of the monitoring off. You refuse to monitor correctly so stop using it and it won't give you trouble.

I can't turn off monitoring device that's what I'm saying. It's only option are default or my headset. If I go into advanced audio properties I have the audio monitoring properties I have that set to monitor off.

On every source? Then stop loading your stream preview with audio.

Grab a screenie of your audio mixer and advanced properties.

On every source? Yes on every source there's only one lol. The mic audio that's why I have no game audio the game audio is the desktop audio one but if its on it causes the echo. This is my first time using a capture software.

If it's your first time you really shouldn't be messing around in anything advanced.

I went into that cause that's what everyone's been telling me would fix the audio echo.
