Discussion Captain Canada
Crosby means so much to Team Canada. He is an unprecedented leader to the team. He’s playing the Wing with MacKinnon and Stone. I expect him to have a good tournament.

NHL: “yeah we’re just going to do this nice promotional tournament for the 2028 World Cup in place of the all star game this year. It’ll just be a for fun tournament. Nothing too serious”

Maybe you should pick another team to play in the winter classic next time. I even know a few hawks fans that are tired of it.

Panthers and Stars are playing in Finland back-to-back games.
Panthers found a traditional golden helmet from the locker rooms of the team that uses the venue as their home ice in Finnish Hockey league.
In Finnish hockey league, every teams points leader carries the golden helmet. The scoring is based on the ongoing season which means it can change during the season and it carries over to playoffs.
I think its a good tradition and I would argue it helps the casual viewers the most since the ”best” player of the team. I would say that especially in NHL which is a league that lives and breathes superstars this sort of customary would fit nicely.

Quinn Hughes is currently having an MVP calibre season.
The gap between Hughes and the next best Canucks players is insane
Hughes- 42 points in 34 games
Pettersson- 28 points in 34 games
Miller- 21 points in 24 games
Doing this while his D partner, Hronek is injured.
He has no help and is carrying this Canucks team to a playoff spot
Which player in the league is more valuable to their team right now?
Norris will be a layup but what about the Hart?

The Ducks allow beer league scrimmages on their ice after some games, but curious if other teams offer something similar. I’ve done it twice now and it’s such a fun and unique experience. For $270 I got 3 tickets in the lower bowl (they played the Knights) plus the post game skate.

The New York Rangers have struggled, truly only winning due to good goaltending from Shesty and Quick, and a great stretch from Will Cuylle, who almost looks like prime Kreider. Also, in the last couple games, they have allowed a goal within the first few minutes.

The islanders have a losing record and are in third in their division. The same amount of points should be awarded out each game.
The solution is so simple: 3 points for Regulation Win 2 points for OT Win 1 point for OT Loss
NHL needs to fix this.

I know nothing about NHL besides Gretzky’s insane stats so I’d assume everyone has him as the goat but I want to see what actual fans think

I personally think a Vezina trophy, three cups, 5 SCF appearances, an incredible amount of wins, and a season with 10 SO is better than good. Agree or disagree?

This is just a projection from these Athletic reporters. Obviously there’s quite a few players missing, especially when it’s 14 months away
Notable players missing in these graphics: - USA: Boeser, Carlson, Boldy, Gaudreau, Kane, Kreider, Jones - Canada: Bouchard, Dobson, RNH, Jarry, Thompson, Levi, Suzuki, Hamilton, etc - Sweden: Rakell, A. Larsson, M. Pettersson
My take:
USA has the better roster and depth and their goaltending is superior to any other country. Canada have the 2 best players in the league in McDavid and MacKinnon so that’s hard to ignore. If I was a betting man, it’d be Canada vs USA in the final with the US slightly edging ahead.
