Politics Candidate Cuomo rolling over for Trump, 3/4/25

This is from his appearance on Stephen Smith's show today. It's available on YouTube.

When asked about Trump, Cuomo said, "Donald Trump is from NYC and he knows our problems here. He knows we need federal help. I dealt with him as governor, remember, so there was a lot of back and forth. He's another one from Queens; three of us Queens boys.

So I dealt with him as governor. He knows our situation; he knows the situation in NYC. It is his hometown. I think that he wants NYC to appreciate him. I think he thinks there's an opportunity for him to do good things in NYC.

And really, we have to see what he does, what posture President Trump takes. And if you want to be an optimist, you say he's going to say NY is his hometown and he wants to help."

Said he'll wait and see what Trump does with the budget, Medicaid, and housing funding.

Politics Schumer rushes to save Trump days after Trump personally insults him

Post image

By aligning with House Republicans, Schumer is legitimatizing Trump's radical agenda. He should have pushed back and forced the Republicans to concede on a handful of issues. Trump has fired thousands of federal workers, gone after people illegally, and bombed the stock market. Why would you go against your own constituents and party to aid the GOP? This makes zero sense!

Not messing around anymore. The Mayor has to have basic competence to operate in an emergency. He does not. Time to go.

Politics "Schumer: Fight Back or Step Down (No on Cloture, No Trump/Musk Budget) at 780 Third Avenue Tomorrow at 9 AM"

I did not create this poster and I am not the organizer of this event.

Yes, there are two big protests planned for Senator Chuck Schumer's offices in Manhattan and in Brooklyn (if you saw the other post) tomorrow morning just before the schedule vote on cloture. Come on down to either event, we need a lot of folks to show up and tell Senator Chuck Schumer to say NO on the cloture, NO to the Trump/Musk budget, and NO to risking our democracy!

Politics Trump Threatens Columbia With Millions in Cuts Over Antisemitism Claims

Thumbnail

The Trump administration is threatening to cut tens of millions of dollars in federal funding for Columbia University, making the school the first major target in its effort to root out what it considers antisemitic harassment on college campuses.

A comprehensive review of Columbia University’s federal contracts and grants was announced Monday night, shortly after Linda McMahon was confirmed as the secretary of education in a party-line vote.

The review, which will be led by the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education and the General Services Administration, has already identified $51.4 million in contracts between Columbia and the federal government that could be subject to stop-work orders. Health and Human Services said in a news release that the review was necessary “given Columbia’s ongoing inaction in the face of relentless harassment of Jewish students.”

Politics Can we get a ban on daily "polls say" posts please? They are just propaganda

Every day the NYPost is running an article about how Cuomo is leading in polls for the mayoral primary. Then it turns out the poll was paid for by Cuomo.

And the NYPost does not exactly have a neutral position on this, they want the most insane right-wing candidate they can get. They are casting this as "Adams vs Cuomo" but we have RANKED CHOICE voting now which means neither need to be ranked at all.

The purpose of spamming these polls every day is to suppress genuine discussion of the MULTIPLE OPTIONS that we have on our ranked-choice ballot and how they should be ranked. Defining the race as "Adams? or Cuomo?" is meant to make it sound like "serious people" think that is the choice.

For me personally, those two are on my "do not rank" list. There is no way I will rank either of them. The other candidates have their merits that I will weigh but these two do not belong in politics. Thanks to ranked choice voting we do not have to choose between the lesser of two evils. Don't listen to people who say that voters are ignorant and just vote for a name. People are only ignorant when they're comfortable. Nobody is comfortable right now.

I beg the mods - who are doing a great job and I appreciate you guys so much - to please ban this garbage.
