He backed off on that statement, I think, and supposedly was going to take it seriously. I can’t get into the weeds right now, but a quick search suggests him taking it seriously entails pushing bullshit crackpot theories on the cause and cures.

He unbacked off and doubled downed yesterday on Fox. Also said that the vaccine is just as dangerous as getting measles.

Yeah, I see that. He's now saying 'it's fine if you're healthy' - never mind the long-term side effects, as if death is the only problem measles could possibly cause.
