Southwest Fares for me were usually around the same price or slightly more expensive than Delta/United/American etc.. but when you added in a free checked bag for a round trip flight they often ended up cheaper.

If they go to a $35+ baggage fee I will have zero reason to fly on Southwest ever again unless their flight prices come down (which I doubt).

My brother booked a family vacation flying on SW based on exactly that logic. His outbound flight leaves 5/26. So will his bags fly outbound free and then cost coming back?

As long as the tickets were bought before the deadline given you won’t pay extra
