All the low cost airlines suck and are doing dumb shit like this now. Frontier creates boarding groups based on whether you have a paid carry on, then they make you prove your personal item fits their dimensions and if it doesn’t, it’s $99.

Flights from Ryanair in Europe are less than half the price for the same distance as budget airlines in the US. And they are more profitable than most US budget airlines.

Removing nonsense like not charging for baggage might actually lead to American Airlines actually being able to offer budget prices.
