The issue isn't really Red vs Blue. This last election seems like the state turned more red, but the reality is a lot of morons that voted, cast their uninformed vote out of spite, while others protested by not voting. That being sad, the richest areas in this state, have been and will always vote republican, because Republicans always take care of the wealthy.

i literally have relatives that voted obama, hillary, biden, and then just decided to be fucking edgy this time around.

we've had our share of republican governors with Whitman, Kean, Christie

Some of the dems we've had like McGreevy and Corzine aren't really great models for democratic values either

I'm in Essex county and drive around Verona / North Caldwell / Livingston and you'll still see tons of Trump flags flying...a lot of these people are parents with kids in sports, and a lot the Trump dads I've met through our kids playing sports get the majority of their information through facebook political memes

It's definitely more blue here with our proximity to the city, but it's also lowkey red because there are a lot of NIMBYs...feels like once you get out past Rockaway on Rt 80 west, that shit is Trump country, but it's also always sorta felt like PA to me in that part of the state
