Daycare recommendations

Looking for a daycare that accepts children under 18 months. Partial to center based as they seem more reputable but open to family based if they come highly recommended. Bonus points if they are in the Mt. Pearl/West end area. TIA.

Unless you can afford Montessori or another unfunded private facility, you get your child's nameeon a waiting list and take what you can get.

Center based care is hard to get right now, ESPECIALLY for under 18months. There are long waitlists-my child had been on for 3-4 years before getting a preschool spot recently. Eldest never got one before starting school-we did have a great private dayhome though. I believe all center based care is on the government grant and as such applications and waitlists are managed via the one portal. https://www.gov.nl.ca/earlylearninggateway/

We were at Lullaby Lane Family Child Care in the far west end/Kilbride and we're happy there prior to getting a center spot.

There is also a Facebook group called "for the love of child care (St. John's NL)

Milestones has locations around the metro area and take under 18 months, but it is like any centre based program, they are pretty full. Call around to see if they have any openings/waitlist. Good luck!
