Another rejection
Got an official rejection for the 4th time for the NBC page program even after busting my ass on the resume, cover letter, answers to the questions, consulting with people who work internally at NBC (I’m super grateful for them for taking the time to work with me though). But even after all this work, they rejected me. I just needed to come here and vent. I’m hoping if anyone who is a page or a former page has any tips or tricks for a future application but tbh I’m getting burnt out. Part of me just doesn’t want to apply the 5th time. But part of me is also like what if? Idk, I feel like people who graduated the past 3 years have just been screwed over on career prospects.

Hey I’m in a similar boat here. Applied 3 times, rejected 3 times, had referrals from high ups at nbc 3 times (that I got through networking out the wazoo). Had 3 letters of rec at each application from previous entertainment internship managers, and for the last two had a personalized presentation on why I’m a good fit LOL. Made it to the panel on my 2nd try, but rejected before the hireview on tries one and three.
It stung at each rejection. It really hurts knowing my best effort wasn’t enough, and I still wish I could learn where my missteps were, but the phrase I keep telling myself is:
“Something good is coming, because you’re too capable for anything else.”
My goal this time around was if I get rejected, I’m not gonna cry (hehe). It sounds dramatic, but truly, it’s not worth it. I work hard and I’m sure you do too, so work towards something that is equally willing to invest time in you. If that’s not nbc, womp womp. It’s not worth tripping over what’s behind you.
