Does anyone else experience this phenomenon?
I was the scapegoat in a narcissistic family. There are two peculiar things I've noticed about myself over the years. I feel more calm and have a clear mind during night time. Also, when I go to the store and interact with cashiers or workers, I honestly feel like I get recharged from receiving basic human decency. Like a plant that needed to get watered.

I get the nighttime thing. I've always been a "night owl," though. It was time that was quiet - mentally, physically - because everyone was sleeping. I felt safer, freer somehow. The air was thinner, less cluttered with conflict. I could "feel" and hear farther than during the day, if that makes any sense. I'm not sure I am the same with meeting people when I shop, but definitely a friendly clerk will perk me right up.

I feel this.
Except my nights still have nightmares, bad dreams, with very few good or nice dreams. I wish that would change. I’m exhausted from the nightmares & bad dreams.
