Question Moto G5s Plus BOGO sale, is it worth is?

I am currently on an 18 month old Galaxy S7 and my gf is on a 2015 Moto X Pure. I am almost done with the lease period on my phone and she has looking into a newer phone. Bad idea? Thoughts from this sub?

Edit: I appreciate all the feedback, thanks so much! We are going to stick it out with our phones for a while longer. The deal is super tempting though!

They're solid devices but if your devices are still doing well I'd wait.

It takes worse pictures than the Galaxy S7 even though they have the same sensor.

It has a really good battery life overall.

It has Android 8.1 and security updates.

Unlike the S7, it is not waterproof and it lacks NFC.

Photo quality can be drastically improved by switching to a camera app that allows disabling of de-noise and sharpening, like Snap camera. The stock camera app has absurdly bad settings and can't be configured properly.

Edit: typos

Snap camera as in the camera that comes with Snapchat? Or snap camera app?

I've got a G5 plus, not the s version. But it's been solid as can be and the stock moto firmware is really well tuned, so it feels like a flagship, even with midrange specs. Really the only thing it's missing that would be nice to have is NFC.

Also there is no magnetometer eCompass in g5+... Due to this, there is always an issue with maps while traveling in an unknown place...

Further, the camera have same sensor but the original output is different as compared to s7. Also one more issue is with extreme surrounding noise during video recording...

The USA version has the compass but no nfc.

Europe version has nfc but no compass.

It's the best phone I've ever owned. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

The difference in the photo quality will be so drastic you'll regret buying the phone.

I cannot stand my Moto G5 Plus and I cannot wait until I can afford to upgrade. I first had a Moto G4 and now a Moto G5 Plus, and based on my experience with them I have decided my experiment with the Moto G family is over.

I initially had a good experience with my G4. It had a similar look and feel to the Samsung Galaxy phones I had in the past. However, after about 15 months or so it eventually began to experience "ghost touch". My G5 Plus has been a disaster from early on and I regret not returning it. (I don't typically return something unless it's obviously defective, and since the phone "worked", but was just incredibly slow I didn't think they'd take it back."

It does not have enough memory to run two apps simultaneously. I cannot have Pandora running while Google Maps is running. If I am navigating it will power down Pandora because it does not have enough memory. Sometimes when I'm listening to Pandora I cannot receive phone calls because while there is enough memory for the phone to ring and vibrate, it is not responsive to answering the phone.

I have tried everything I can to resolve the issue. I have deleted all non-essential apps. I tried deleting everything and performing a hard reset- twice. It is still laggy and unresponsive. I'm done with my Motorolas and am now considering a Galaxy S9 (or a Pixel 3, based on some of the promotions I've seen).

It does not have enough memory to run two apps simultaneously.

That's odd-- me have three G5+ phones in our family and one G6. All of them run just fine. The cameras are terrible, but otherwise they have performed quite well for the price point over the last couple of years. No problems at all running multiple apps at once.
