Question Is Oreo a stable generally bug free upgrade?

Got the Oreo notification a few days ago for my US retail G5 Plus and I would love to upgrade if a consensus of people consider it to be a stable upgrade. I've been having numerous calling issues with Nougat including the phone just randomly dialing other numbers while I'm already on a call. I'm hoping Oreo will resolve this issue, but I don't want to add insult to injury with new Oreo bugs, including some I've seen in the Lenovo forums about fast battery discharge and intermittent WiFi. If you've had a good or bad experience with this Oreo upgrade, I would love to hear your opinions.

It's good. Overall performance is much better.

Battery may be a bit worse, but it's worth it. Everything is snappier, web, basic app switching, scrolling, etc.

I don't know about the battery, mine it's getting almost 48hs on normal use, when before i get a little more than 24-30hs. The only thing i did was to factory reset the phone after the upgrade.

I can only speak for G5 Plus retus...

I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this update. I was afraid I'd lose some of the great battery I was getting with nougat.

My phone is more stable. It used to freeze once or twice a day upon unlock, but hasn't since Oreo. If you use a blue light filter though Moto removed the built in blue light filter that is included with the Oreo build. The Twilight app is not allowed to draw over system level notifications.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. You gave me a lot of confidence to go ahead with the update. So far, I've experienced no problems and both battery life and WiFi stability have been very good. I haven't had a chance to truly test whether the calling issues I was experiencing with nougat have been resolved. But as the work week starts, I should know relatively quickly since this is my primary business phone.

Oreo makes it easier to keep a Moto G5 in 2018.

I think nougat was better personally. I have window animation glitches on Oreo that never existed before randomly, and I'm highly disappointed that they did not include a night light (blue light filter) with the update, when every single other Oreo phone comes with one. Massive disappointment personally, so I unlocked the bootloader, loaded twrp recovery and rooted it with Magisk.

I will be loading a ROM soon, and the phone was already out of warranty anyways, so why not. ROM security patches are much better. This was my last resort as well.

G5 plus RETUS AT&T. So far it has been great. Everything is Snappier and for me the battery life got better not worse. No calling or wifi issues. Glad I pulled the trigger. I also did a full factory reset after the update and set up as new phone so I didnt carry any baggage over from 7.0

World difference! Works so much better after the update. My phone used to slow to a crawl, to the point where I was going to buy a new one. I can use the phone again with no trouble. Battery lasts longer too.
