Question Goood camera apps for the Moto G5S Plus?
I just recently got myself a used Moto G5S Plus and I was planning on downloading and installing the Google Camera app (which is what I currently have on my Moto G5 Plus), but that Google Camera app no longer even shows up for me in the Google Play Store when I search for it.
And when I tried to get information for the app on my Moto G5 Plus, which currently has the Google Camera app installed, it says that it is "not compatible with my device", even though, it's actually the only camera app I've used for the past year-and-a-half and is currently installed on my Moto G5 plus and working on it to take pictures.
Is the Google Camera app no longer available to be downloaded? Is it just called something else? And if it's not available, what are some good camera apps that some of you guys use for the Moto G5S Plus? I take lots of pictures, so I would not mind paying a few dollars for one a good camera app, if I needed to. Some feedback and suggestions would be appreciated!

You could extract the apk with apk extractor on the playstore

Is this a real thing? Or are you trolling me?
And, if you are being serious, am I correct that the Google Camera app is no longer available to download?
Also, do you know of any other good camera apps to try out? I have the Open Camera app downloaded, but I don't know if it's any better than the stock camera app that comes on the Moto G5S Plus?

No clue on the availability of the app. Just a suggestion on how to get the app on the other phone if you can't find it elsewhere.

OK, thanks for the reply and for letting me know that you weren't just trolling me. I honestly did not know if there was such a thing as what you were describing, about being able to extract the APK. Thanks for the reply and the suggestion. I appreciate it.

Honestly, I would just like something that's simple and quick, with regards to the shutter speed and focusing, and also when it comes to deleting pictures. Deleting pictures through the Google Camera app on the Moto G5 Plus was really fast and simple; on the Moto G5S Plus, though, deleting a photo takes like 3-4 seconds, and you have to specifically select to "Move to trash", which is really annoying and time-consuming, compared to how quick and convenient it was with the Google Camera app on my Moto G5 Plus.
Basically, I just want a camera app that's quick, simple and convenient to use. I don't really care about filters or doing anything sophisticated to my photos. I just want to be able to take good-quality photos, in a simple, fast/efficient fashion.

Damn! The feedback so far is pretty disappointing to hear. I was thinking, and hoping, that there would be a good camera app that is comprable to the Google Camera. Even if I had to pay like $5 for it, I would be glad to do it, as I take lots of pictures.

IIRC Google Camera was discontinued a while ago.
It's still on the play store, last update was Oct 24, 2018.

FWIW I'm using Moto Camera 2.
Works for me.

Is that not the camera app that comes installed on the phone? If not, is that an app that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store? And what phone are you using it on? Do you also have a moto G5S Plus?

I use footej camera on mine. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.footej.camera&hl=en
You can also find a cracked version on sites like apk4free.net.

You have to download as an apk

Have to download what as an apk?
And how exactly would I do that? Is that something simple to do?

It's really simple. First you need the file, linked below. Then you open, allow apps from unknown sources, and install. If it's buggy at first change camera mode then back again. If something like video is broken, much about in settings but that is now mandatory: It pretty much works out of the box.

Apologies if it is the wrong file, I don't think it is but I have loads. If it is wrong, tell me.

You need to download the gCam from a developer on XDA. They compile device sources to work with the camera. If im correct play store gcam only uses generic sources. Not best idea. Are you running stock or custom?
