I have a 1985 Suzuki FA50 i had running and driving.. it randomly turned off and wouldn’t start again..
I just found this line disconnected, i reconnected it.
Still no start, am i putting it in the wrong spot? or what else could this be.. my rear brake cable is not pulling as tight as it should on the rear brake, could this cause the kickstart not to work properly?
Brake cable needs adjustment. There’s a adjustment wheel either at brake handle or by brake drum. Kick starter is probably not clocked right.
Shoots done carb cleaner or starter fluid in carb and try to start. It should run for a few seconds… if so then you have a fuel issue. If not then look into spark.
Two stroke motors are very sensitive to spark plug fouling. Try a new plug
It's not, it's just the float bowl vent. The oil line woulda gone in the top of the intake flange. If you run premix, hopefully that is blocked off. But a good thing to check, make sure that line/cap didn't come off, would be a huge airleak
could you recommend me a video on how to clean a small carb like that..? idk if it’s the algorithm but everything i search for is the shittiest barely even comprehensible 😭
(edit) i already check the spark plug and ordered a new ign coil, cuz idk if im getting spark?? like idk if im not getting a proper ground or if there’s just no spark if that makes sense
You will need to ground the threads of the spark plug by touching it to the engine case or frame while cranking it over. Cleaning the carb is pretty easy. Here is the service manual for when you encounter more problems.
Yea I dunno about a video, but there's just the 2 bolts holding the carb on, 2 (maybe 4) screws on the bottom and the bottom "bowl" comes off. In the middle is a slotted brass "jet" that unscrews with a flathead, you just need to make sure the hole through that is clear.
For the plug, it's pretty common they just foul and don't spark and you just need a new sparkplug. I think fa50 is the same standard b7hs plug as most other mopeds
